Sell-A-Stamp Spooktacular Promo!!

Batten down the hatches!!
Hurricane Sandy is upon us~ I hope it won't be too bad but it looks a bit scary. It was a quiet weekend with nice weather..so we could prepare the yard, house and trees as much as we could. Yesterday I ran out to the store to get a few last minute goodies...toilet paper, more water and LOTS of junk food since they canceled schools already...I knew that the kids would enjoy this epic storm eating cheetos!!

We are anticipating to lose power~ which will suck in a major way...but what can you do? Each of the kids have their own flashlight and look forward to playing 'flashlight' tag or hide-n-seek.

Just wanted to share with you a few projects that I made for my last Breast Cancer Awareness Stamp Camp. I sold these goodies to benefit my son's teacher who is fighting this terrible disease.

Then for who wore 'pink' to support this cause received this:

Two of the mini snickers fit perfectly inside...these little purses made with the Petite Purse Bigz L die (125606) are great for treats!!

I also wanted to share Stampin' Up!'s BIG announcement that today October 29th..is the Sell-a-Stamp 'Spooktacular' promotion...15% off stamps. One day only...order NOW!!

Shop online by clicking here. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask..I will be checking my e-mail during the day...while we have power!

Hope you all are safe and sound....till next time~ happy stampin'!

'Pretty In Pink'

This Friday I am hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness Stamp Camp. These are the three cards that we will be making. If you are in the area, please RSVP on my website if you can make it!!

I have not posted on my blog for a few days now...yikes!! These blogs are hard to keep up with~ I did 'think' about posting a creation yesterday for Tuesday's 'Color Challenge' on SCS. But I knew that  I needed to get my booty in gear for Stamp Camp. Here we are approaching the end of the month...and as you know it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month...I have been seeing lots of 'pink' cards out there!! The color challenge was to use Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink and Primrose Petals. I thought it was funny that I made the card on the far right before I even saw the Color Challenge..am I psychic?? Maybe psychotic . But since I didn't use any Primrose Petals...I didn't submit my card :(

I am already looking forward to next week's Challenge!! If you have been following my blog...perhaps you were looking forward to my Monday's Christmas card?? Not to worry...I have been keeping track and as of right now..I owe you the past two Monday's cards...they will be posted this upcoming Monday...so be looking for them!!

Color Challenge CC397 Vanilla Chocolate Pie

It has been about a week since I have stamped...shame on me! I was going through withdrawal...so thank-goodness for today's 'Color Challenge' over on SCS. It is even sounds yummy!!

Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, and Pumpkin Pie- Vanilla Chocolate Pie!! This is my kind of card!!

The dessert option was to make a 'Fall' themed card.

Here is my card:

When I read the colors chosen, I was excited~ but then when I went to stamp...I noticed that I didn't really have much left in my 'Pumpkin Pie' stash...(after a quick panic attack) I grabbed a piece of More Mustard CS instead for the card base and went to work. When I was coloring the leaves...I used mostly More Mustard ink...but here and there added some Pumpkin Pie.

Inside:

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Gently Falling (123804 C), Blooming with Kindness (126422 C)
Card Stock: More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla
Ink: More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip
Access: burlap, Postage Stamp punch (122344), More Mustard marker, Color Spritzer tool (107066), glue gun, glue dots (103683), Blender pens (102845) heat tool (129053), Vanilla Scented embossing powder (125590), Brushed Bronze Designer buttons (127833), Champagne Mish Shimmer paint (mixed with rubbing alcohol (116806)

Note: After trimming the piece of bulap, I used a leftover strand to thread the button (looks just like our linen thread!)

Please leave me a comment to make my day!!

Color Challenge CC396 'Rich Mustard @ Midnight'

This is Miss Ruby...don't let that cute little face fool you~ she is rotten!!

While I was snapping shots of cards, she was in the basement with me and my oldest sonTyler. She is very curious about anything and everything you are doing!!
She is a 1 year old Puggle...pushing 30lbs! Think it might be time that she and her momma (me) start dieting and begin to exercise!!

Or perhaps could stampin' be considered a cardio workout.. if you did it really fast?? She could be like 'Stamper' over on Ann Clemmer's blog. Perhaps not...Ruby would probably eat my stamps!!

Anyway...today is Tuesday and that means that for today's post I have my Color Challenge card to share with you. This weeks colors are: Rich Razzleberry, More Mustard and Midnight Muse. I grabbed the three colors, and thought 'Fall' but when I looked at the gallery and saw the other 'Fall' themed beauties...I changed my mind and went a different route. I used the stamp set Pleasant Poppies which sadly I had not even used yet!! I bought this set when the catalog came out because it's my Mom's favorite flower...think this card will be mailed to her. Her favorite color is purple (another plus!)...I could picture this card representing a beautiful sunset in the Arizona desert. She lives right outside of Tuscon.

Here is my card:

Inside:

This card is SO EASY...doesn't use a ton of supplies...and looks beautiful!! My kind of card. I tore a piece of scratch paper and used it as a mask and sponged away...I thought about connecting the colors..but I liked the look with the bare Naturals Ivory CS showing in between.

Note: On the inside, I used the sentiment 'Imagine the Possibilities' from the stamp set 'Word Play' which is available as a single stamp~ click here for more details. There are two other stamp sets that are currently available to order as SINGLE stamps!! Yay!!! Check out my Online Store under promotions for complete details!

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Pleasant Poppies (129499 C), Word Play 120651 C)
Card Stock: Naturals Ivory
Ink: Midnight Muse, Rich Razzleberry, More Mustard and Versamark
Access: crochet trim (118481), heat tool (129053), Pewter embossing powder (124114), stamping sponges (101610), Designer ribbon slides (127834)

Monday Christmas Card(s) Week 4

Not sure yet what I will be making for dinner tonight, might need to check out some warm temptations on Pinterest..it's a nasty day here in Virginia~ gloomy, wet and cold!
Yesterday I actually had to turn on the heat :(

I am still in denial that the cooler temps are here to stay...still in denial that the sun sets earlier and that the holidays will be upon us before we know it! Ahhhhhh!

It was the perfect day to stay indoors and stamp, so today I have for my 'Monday Christmas Card'...three cards to share with you. All are made with my latest and greatest favorite stamp set (have you noticed that I say that alot?). It's called Winter Memories and I LOVE it!! It is shown on Pg. 19 in the Holiday Catalog and screams 'vintage' so when I sat down to play...I could not just stop with one card!
Another element that I used throughout was the Festival of Prints DSP (126904) shown on Pg. 20 in the Holiday Catalog. This paper pack is a total of (48) 6"x6" double sided sheets and makes for quick projects~ use them for a photo mat, punches, card fronts and more!! All 48 sheets for only $6.95!

Here is the first one I made:

I applied the DSP to the Very Vanilla CS then ran it through the Big Shot, then I took the sponge dauber and Frost White Shimmer paint and lightly brushed the ink on the raised snowflake. There was enough going on with the card that I kept the image blank. The image was stamped with the Early Espresso ink, then embossed with the Vanilla scented embossing powder. When the card was all assembled I 'spritzed' it...with the same Frost White Shimmer paint mixed with rubbing alcohol.  Very 'Norman Rockwell'...huh?
Inside:

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Winter Memories (127937 C), Tiny Tags (118592 C)
Card Stock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Riding Hood Red and Festival of Prints DSP (126904)
Ink: Early Espresso
Access: linen thread (104199), Riding Hood Red 3/8" taffeta ribbon (122988), Vintage Faceted buttons (127555), vintage trinkets (118764), jewelry tag punch (117190), Champagne glass glitter (120997), Frost White Shimmer paint (116854), sponge daubers (102892), Big Shot (113439), Northern Flurry embossing folder (120902), heat tool (129053), Vanilla scented embossing powder (125590), 2-way glue pen (100425), dimensionals (104430), sticky strip (104294)

Here is the second:

The iceskates are perfect in this set, reminds me of the 'olden days'. We could skate as kids in front of my grandparents house when the pond froze...and only come in when you couldn't feel your toes. It has been a long time since I have put on a pair of skates...maybe one day~

For this card, I ran a layered piece of Crumb Cake CS that was embossed with the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder (116824) and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink. The skates were stamped in Early Espresso ink on Very Vanilla CS and over that the 'Warm Winter Wishes' was stamped on Vellum CS with Lucky Limeade ink and embossed with the Vanilla scented embossing powder. Added some ribbon and brads and for this one I sprayed the card with the Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz. Voila~

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Winter Memories (127937 C)
Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Vellum CS and Festival of Prints DSP (126904)
Ink: Lucky Limeade, Early Espresso
Access: Cherry Cobbler 1/2" seam binding ribbon (120992), stamping sponges (101610), vintage trinkets (118764), Big Shot (113439), Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder (116824), Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz (118772), heat tool (129053), Vanilla scented embossing powder (125590)

Here is the third:

This one is pretty self-explanatory: the Soft Suede CS was embossed with the Woodgrain embossing folder (127821). For the image I embossed with Versamark and Pewter embossing powder and colored it in with blender pens and the ink pads. When this card was assembled I sprayed it with the Champagne Mist shimmer paint mixed with rubbing alcohol.

Inside:

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Winter Memories (127937 C), More Merry Messages (126402 C)
Card Stock: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla and Festival of Prints DSP (126904)
Ink: Versamark, Riding Hood Red, Crumb Cake, Lucky Limeade, Soft Suede
Access: Big Shot (113439), Woodgrain embossing folder (127821), Pewter embossing powder (124114), heat tool (129053), linen thread (104199), Vintage Faceted button (127555), Soft Suede 3/8" taffeta ribbon (122967), crochet trim (118481), sticky strip (104294), Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (116806)

Let me know if you have any questions, or leave me a comment to really make my day!!

World Card Making Day 2012

Happy Saturday!! Today is World Card Making Day, this year I have spent the entire day crafting away in my studio (a.k.a basement). I wanted to share with you another 'Breast Cancer Awareness Card' that was inspired by the ever so talented Kimberly Van Diepen's. Click here for a video tutorial she made the other day on how her card was made. I had all the supplies on hand...and went to work. I really didn't change much~ but when I saw her card...especially how she embellished it with the ribbon (that girl knows how to make ribbon look so pretty!!) I imagined it being a Breast Cancer card...you could use it for several things...but this month is as you know...Breast Cancer Awareness Month SPREAD THE WORD AND SAVE A LIFE!!

Supplies:
Stamp Set: From My Heart (126557 C), Tiny Tags (118592 C)
Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso Core'dinations Card Stock (127848)

The cards that I am sharing with you this month for 'Breast Cancer Awareness' will be donated along with a percentage of my sales for the entire month of October to Susan G Komen for the Cure.

In addition, towards the end of the month I will also host a 'Breast Cancer Fundraiser' Stamp Camp. Together...let's stamp out this terrible disease!!

Together there is HOPE

Friendship Friday!!

I have two cards to share with you today. This first one I made for my friend Erin (hi Erin!) We recently reconnected after about a year or so and it's great!! I missed her laugh, long talks and understanding. You know...when you find a 'true' friend that really gets you~ don't let them go!!!

This card was inspired by Mary Brown's shown here. I liked it so much that the only thing I changed was the color scheme...to make it seem more like Fall. I hope she likes it!
Perfect sentiment: Friendship is a great place...I'm glad we're here (smile)

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Best of Everything (123536 C)
Card Stock: Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Tangerine Tango and Floral District DSP (126919)
Ink: Sahara Sand, Rich Razzleberry, Baja Breeze
Access: Brights Designer Buttons (119747), linen thread (104199), Rich Razzleberry 1/8" taffeta ribbon (retired), dimensionals (104430), Basic Rhinestones (119246), Decorative Label punch (120907), glue dots (103683)

For this next card...I had received a call from my girlfriend Shelly (hi Shelly!!) while she was at work. She wasn't feeling very well and needed a 'pick me up'. Going home was not an option as she lives about 45 minutes from work~ so she had asked me if I could bring her some 'sunshine'. You know when it's that time of the month when us women feel miserable?? Here is the card that I made to bring a smile to her beautiful face!!
(also added some chocolate!!)
Here is the inside:
I thought this set was perfect..."They say this too shall pass...they just never say when"
Supplies:
Stamp Set: From My Heart (126557 C)

You wanna know something crazy?? I didn't spritz either of these two cards..YAY!! I can go without...maybe for a day (wait until tomorrow's post...I'll probably make it shimmer!!)
Hope you all have a great day!

Hugs,
Erin

Pop-up Owl Card Tree Trunk Tutorial

Wonder if the title should read 'Pop-out Owl Tutorial' instead. When you open the card, the owl pops out of the tree trunk~ so cute!! I mentioned last week that I would share with you a video on how I made this card:

Was hoping to get to it sooner, but Monday morning I pulled something (not sure what) in my neck/shoulder. So even though it was on the left side...and I am right handed~ stamping has been minimal. Not much you can do when you can't move your head! Plus...it's very difficult to stamp while on muscle relaxers...(wink).

Here you go:

Please let me know if you have any questions!!

Thanks again Emma for the inspiration, be sure to check out her blog at www.ladynthestamp.blogspot.com

Googly Ghouls Treat Box and Card

Happy Wednesday!! I am tricking myself to be happy..mind over matter right? My neck is still a 'pain in the neck' I would say a wee bit better today so I decided to work on some Halloween treats. Here is a quick card today:
If you know me...then you know I HATE spiders...the real ones..but this little guy from Googly Ghouls is so stinkin' cute!

I made it to go along with this:
It's a treat box that I 'CASED' from Angie's '12 weeks of Halloween'.Click here for the tutorial.
Here is the inside:
I filled a cello bag with Reeses Pieces...and I ate the rest (YUM!)
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Googly Ghouls (128063)
Card Stock: Basic Gray, Very Vanilla, Tangerine Tango, Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP (126906)
Ink: Basic Gray
Access: stamping sponges (101610), linen thread (104199), 1 3/8" circle punch (119860), 1 3/4" scallop circle punch (119854), Big Shot (113439), spider web embossing folder (120889), Scallop circle Bigz die (113468), Silver Foil Smooch Spritz (118771), googlies (127539)

Just wanted to quickly add that if you have not purchased the Googlies (eyeballs) what are you waiting for?? I have LOTS of eyeballs...and I thought I would pass on ordering Stampin' Up!'s...but they came along with a kit that I had ordered on pg. 27 in the Holiday Catalog.
Here are the eyeballs that I already had~

(as you can see....HUNDREDS!!) but you have to add glue to them!!!

So here are the Stampin' Up! Googlies (very cute name too!!) (item #127539)

These you just peel off and stick! I think the whole package is cute...they are silly the way the eyeballs jiggle all over the place...yes I am very easily amused! You get a package of 50 for only $2.50 (US)
There you have it, shop online in my store for any of the above mentioned supplies. Have a great day!

Color Challenge CC395 'Heartfelt Thanks'

Today's quick and easy post...momma is 'no bueno' I can hardly move. But look at me go...in major pain...I STILL managed to stamp...have you stamped today??

Color Challenge CC395 'Perfect Summer Tango'~ this week's Color Challenge over on SCS is just that...to use Perfect Plum, Summer Starfruit and Tangerine Tango. My first thought screamed Halloween and to work I went...but then my stamping mojo stalled out on me...must have been the muscle relaxers!!

So I changed it up a bit...and added dessert! When the Color Challenge is created, there is sometimes a theme or technique..and sometimes there is an optional 'dessert' option. This weeks 'dessert' was to add a 4th color, Pool Party. So now we have a Perfect Summer Tango Party!

Here is what I came up with:

It was inspired by a card shown on pg. 143 in the last Idea Book & Catalog (2011-2012).
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Fabulous Phrases (120501 C)
Card Stock: Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Pool Party, Summer Starfruit,Tangerine Tango, Perfect Plum, Vellum
Ink: Sahara Sand
Access: Bitty buttons (118761), Whisper White Baker's twine (124262), Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack (118309), Summer Starfruit 3/8" satin ribbon (126846), Sahara Sand Marker, Color Spritzer tool (107066), Big Shot, (113439), Hearts Collections framelits (125599)

I cut a smaller heart than the vellum one using Sahara Sand CS and covered it with snail adhesive, punched a bunch of tiny flowers...and covered the snail. Layered it onto the vellum heart and ta-da!!
Here is a close-up:

Easy and simple...what this girl needed today...as I am now heading back to bed to rest :(

Hoping tomorrow will be better!

Monday's Christmas Card Week 3 & Hope Card

UPDATE: This is acutally Tuesday 10/2/12...could not finish posting it because I strained my neck :(
I am on some muscle relaxers...and will post again later today...that should be interesting!!

[Monday's post: 10/01/12]
What a weekend!! Most people dread Monday..I was looking forward to it!!  Some relaxation, no plans..the kids being away at school during the day. I can start my Friday all over again; clean the house, do laundry and run errands!!

'Hope' you all had a great weekend and happy Oct. 1st!! I mentioned in an earlier post that during this month I would focus on the fact that it's Breast Cancer Awareness Month. My first card to share with you is one that I made yesterday and I love how it turned out~

Here is how I made the background (after a few different attempts).
I knew I wanted to use Melon Mambo ink refill...and white glossy CS.  I had a piece that measured about 5x7 and using a spray bottle filled with water I sprayed it all over. There were a few places that the water pooled and that's okay. Then I used an aqua painter pen and some of the refill ink and 'smeared' the ink all over.

On this sample I just dropped the refill ink drops directly onto the CS. The ink follows the little water rivers..and made a really cool effect. I will use this piece for another project.

It looked like both of my samples were going to take a LONG time to dry...and that was 'no bueno' for this impatient girl! So I used the heat tool to dry it and the air from gun made the ink and water run in all sorts of different directions. I'm sure that everytime you try it...each one will be unique.

Give it a try for yourself...not sure if this is even a so-called 'technique'. But it was pretty neat!

When the CS was dry, I stamped the flower image from in Basic Gray and wished I had done it in Basic Black...you could see it..just not was well as I had hoped. So...I grabbed my new favorite ink pad...the Illuminate Watermark Stampin' pad? (pg. 23 in the Holiday Catalog.) I didn't even know this baby existed!! I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to make sure the image matched and restamped...now it looks almost embossed....and so pretty!! Cut it out with the framelit and finished my card!!
Voila~
Here is the inside:

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Blooming with Kindness (126422 C)
Card Stock: Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Basic Gray, Glossy White
Ink: Basic Gray, Illuminate Watermark Glimmer pad (126857)

Now for Week 3 of my Christmas Cards:

This card was inspired by the cute card on pg. 23 in the 2012-2013 Idea Book & Catalog. Look in the top left corner with the polar bear~ I loved the bottom how it represents 'snow' so I gave it a try.
Inside:

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Evergreen (127973 C), Christmas Lodge (123769 C)
Card Stock: Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla
Ink: Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Versamark

Tomorrow I will be back with my 'Color Challenge' card and video for the pop-up owl card shown here. Have a great day and go stamp something...anything...even if it's the dog!! (LOL)
