Thanksgiving 2012 pictures~ YUM!

Can you believe it's the end of November?? I don't know how it passes by so quickly...time that is.

It seems there is never enough of it...whether in a day..a month or when family is visiting.
Hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving holiday, I have so many pictures of how I decorated my home for the holidays...here are just a few:

First...the bird

Tom was just under 22lbs. and DELICIOUS!!!

Here are the appetizers:

Are you drooling yet??

What about now??
Yummy!!! Okay...I need to stop posting pictures of food because my tummy is starting to growl!!

Here are some hand-stamped goodies~ all made using justa few supplies. Cajun Craze card stock, the Big Shot and Petite Pocket Bigz XL die (123131), First Edition Specialty DSP (121878), Champagne glimmer paper (127885), Comfort Cafe DSP (126898) and a few other accessories. Just to let you know...I only used about 1/2 of the pack of Comfort Cafe DSP...can you believe it?? I was scared when I started using it, that I would run out~ but it went a long way!!

(This is at the 'adult' table)
Here is a close-up:

(This is the kiddos table)

I seriously almost had a heart attack when I found the same color 'Cajun Craze' napkins at Walmart!!

Here is a banner that I had hung in our family room~ this ones a keeper...LOVE me some fall colors!!

At the kids table I made a few pumkins:

On the counter I displayed a rosette made using the Designer Rosette Bigz XL die (125594).

Here is the back:

One more thing to mention....all of the writing on the tags was done by my friend Marie~ my handwriting stinks!! So a HUGE thank-you to Marie...she used the new Gold Stampin' Dazzle marker (128979). Love it!!!

Now...I mentioned how quickly time goes by?? Here is a picture of me with my niece Kaia (I call her my monster) she is so stinkin' cute and I could just eat her up~ she's growing up so fast!! After dinner we did some stamping! Just ignore the big blob on my forehead...darn skin cancer :(
Don't forget to wear SPF!! Even in the cooler months ahead~ trust me!!

It was a wonderful holiday, began actually the night before when we started cooking!! The left overs are now gone...and the house is decorated for Christmas!! I was seriosly dreading it...it's a lot of work!! Not sure yet what I'll come up with for Stampin' Up! home decor...but you know it will be something!! So stay tuned!!

Election Day!!! (and some pretty projects too!!)

Today is election day...did you vote??
I did...my husband and I ran out today after lunch and was glad (surprised really) to see that there wasn't a line!
I look forward to the next four years...hoping for a better country. May the best man win! I am also looking forward to no more commercials and ads!! Yikes...is it me or was it really bad this year??

Over the weekend I had a Workshop at my hostess/friend Gloria's home...it was so much fun! It was a small group (we had 6 people including myself). I think smaller groups are more intimate and we enjoyed a nice lunch. It was funny~we had taken a break for lunch and drinks (it's never too early for a glass of wine)and while we were just sitting there...with drinks in hand, her hubby Norman walked into the room....BUSTED!! It was cute~ he thought we were stamping...or supposed to be but nope!!

For a hostess "thank-you" gift~ I made another 'etched' glass vase. I used the leave image from the new die in the Holiday Catalog. I had thought about ordering this die...but then decided not to because I had the retired Leaves #2 die...very similar...but I LOVE this one more and the acorn??
So cute!!! Thank God my downline Beth had ordered it and let me borrow it (thanks Beth!). I filled with some decorate grassy stuff (not sure what it's called) and placed some acorns on top. Didn't think flowers would travel well in the car! Click here for a video tutorial I did on etched glass.

Here is a close-up:

We made 2 cards and a set of 4 coasters. The holidays are upon us~ crazy!!! But it's never too early to start thinking of gift giving...this one you might want to add to your fav's!

Here are the coasters:

Here is a close-up:

(back)

Directions: dust off tiles, stamp image that you plan on using with Staz-On ink and heat set the tile in a 350 degree oven for 10 minutes. Allow to cool and apply cork backing.

Here is the coolest part~ I bought the tiles from a home center store. They are tumbled marble tiles that come 9 to a box for less then $4.00 for the box! You can't get anything better than that for a beautiful handmade gift! You have to look through them to see which ones would be best for stamping on~ since it's tumbled marble...there are a few that have more imperfections than others and certain ones that are just...too pitted to stamp on.

Here is the card that we made to accompany the gift~
Close up:

It's prettier in person...because I added shimmer!! Hee hee...of course I did!! You just can't tell from this photo :(
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Sunflower (123606 W, 123608 C)
Card Stock: River Rock, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso
Ink: Early Espresso, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede, River Rock, More Mustard
Access: stamping sponges (101610), Color Spritzer tool (107066), Early Espresso marker, Pool Party Seam binding ribbon (125582), Brushed Bronze Designer buttons (127833), Champagne Mist Shimmer paint (mixed with rubbing alcohol) (116806)

This next card was so easy~ no stamping!! It was inspired (practically CASED) by the ever so wonderful Shelli Gardner (Stampin' Up! CEO) . If you have not checked out her blog www.soshelli.com then make that a top priority...she has some beautiful projects posted!! Click here for the link to her beauty.

Supplies:
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, First Edition Specialty DSP (121878), Champagne Glimmer Paper (127885)
Access: Big Shot (113439), Autumn Accents Bigz die (127812), linen thread (104199), Square Lattice folder (119976)

See?? Not many materials needed and it can be for any occasion! Make something similar but smaller for place setting/name tags. Perfecto!

That's it for me today~ feels good to be a little caught up at home. I took down the Halloween decorations (sad, sad, sad) and put out the Thanksgiving ones...I even have bins in the attic for good ol' turkey day!! I think I need a bigger attic~yikes!!

I was tempted to put up the tree...since we have two artificial trees what does it matter?? But I held back and gladly~ we are hosting Thanksgiving this year and it feels good to have a little change of scenery around the house...wanna a sneak peek?

Check out my mice~

Take care and happy stampin'~ let me know if you have any question, leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

Sell-A-Stamp Spooktacular Promo!!

Batten down the hatches!!
Hurricane Sandy is upon us~ I hope it won't be too bad but it looks a bit scary. It was a quiet weekend with nice weather..so we could prepare the yard, house and trees as much as we could. Yesterday I ran out to the store to get a few last minute goodies...toilet paper, more water and LOTS of junk food since they canceled schools already...I knew that the kids would enjoy this epic storm eating cheetos!!

We are anticipating to lose power~ which will suck in a major way...but what can you do? Each of the kids have their own flashlight and look forward to playing 'flashlight' tag or hide-n-seek.

Just wanted to share with you a few projects that I made for my last Breast Cancer Awareness Stamp Camp. I sold these goodies to benefit my son's teacher who is fighting this terrible disease.

Then for who wore 'pink' to support this cause received this:

Two of the mini snickers fit perfectly inside...these little purses made with the Petite Purse Bigz L die (125606) are great for treats!!

I also wanted to share Stampin' Up!'s BIG announcement that today October 29th..is the Sell-a-Stamp 'Spooktacular' promotion...15% off stamps. One day only...order NOW!!

Shop online by clicking here. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask..I will be checking my e-mail during the day...while we have power!

'Pretty In Pink'

This Friday I am hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness Stamp Camp. These are the three cards that we will be making. If you are in the area, please RSVP on my website if you can make it!!

I have not posted on my blog for a few days now...yikes!! These blogs are hard to keep up with~ I did 'think' about posting a creation yesterday for Tuesday's 'Color Challenge' on SCS. But I knew that  I needed to get my booty in gear for Stamp Camp. Here we are approaching the end of the month...and as you know it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month...I have been seeing lots of 'pink' cards out there!! The color challenge was to use Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink and Primrose Petals. I thought it was funny that I made the card on the far right before I even saw the Color Challenge..am I psychic?? Maybe psychotic . But since I didn't use any Primrose Petals...I didn't submit my card :(

I am already looking forward to next week's Challenge!! If you have been following my blog...perhaps you were looking forward to my Monday's Christmas card?? Not to worry...I have been keeping track and as of right now..I owe you the past two Monday's cards...they will be posted this upcoming Monday...so be looking for them!!

If you look closely at the photo...I used some Dazzling Details (124117) to represent the gooey snail trail...cute huh? Color Challenge CC397 Vanilla Chocolate Pie

It has been about a week since I have stamped...shame on me! I was going through withdrawal...so thank-goodness for today's 'Color Challenge' over on SCS. It is even sounds yummy!!

Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, and Pumpkin Pie- Vanilla Chocolate Pie!! This is my kind of card!!

The dessert option was to make a 'Fall' themed card.

Here is my card:

When I read the colors chosen, I was excited~ but then when I went to stamp...I noticed that I didn't really have much left in my 'Pumpkin Pie' stash...(after a quick panic attack) I grabbed a piece of More Mustard CS instead for the card base and went to work. When I was coloring the leaves...I used mostly More Mustard ink...but here and there added some Pumpkin Pie.

Inside:

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Gently Falling (123804 C), Blooming with Kindness (126422 C)
Card Stock: More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla
Ink: More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip
Access: burlap, Postage Stamp punch (122344), More Mustard marker, Color Spritzer tool (107066), glue gun, glue dots (103683), Blender pens (102845) heat tool (129053), Vanilla Scented embossing powder (125590), Brushed Bronze Designer buttons (127833), Champagne Mish Shimmer paint (mixed with rubbing alcohol (116806)

Note: After trimming the piece of bulap, I used a leftover strand to thread the button (looks just like our linen thread!)

Please leave me a comment to make my day!!

Color Challenge CC396 'Rich Mustard @ Midnight'

This is Miss Ruby...don't let that cute little face fool you~ she is rotten!!

While I was snapping shots of cards, she was in the basement with me and my oldest sonTyler. She is very curious about anything and everything you are doing!!
She is a 1 year old Puggle...pushing 30lbs! Think it might be time that she and her momma (me) start dieting and begin to exercise!!

Or perhaps could stampin' be considered a cardio workout.. if you did it really fast?? She could be like 'Stamper' over on Ann Clemmer's blog. Perhaps not...Ruby would probably eat my stamps!!

Anyway...today is Tuesday and that means that for today's post I have my Color Challenge card to share with you. This weeks colors are: Rich Razzleberry, More Mustard and Midnight Muse. I grabbed the three colors, and thought 'Fall' but when I looked at the gallery and saw the other 'Fall' themed beauties...I changed my mind and went a different route. I used the stamp set Pleasant Poppies which sadly I had not even used yet!! I bought this set when the catalog came out because it's my Mom's favorite flower...think this card will be mailed to her. Her favorite color is purple (another plus!)...I could picture this card representing a beautiful sunset in the Arizona desert. She lives right outside of Tuscon.

Here is my card:

Inside:

This card is SO EASY...doesn't use a ton of supplies...and looks beautiful!! My kind of card. I tore a piece of scratch paper and used it as a mask and sponged away...I thought about connecting the colors..but I liked the look with the bare Naturals Ivory CS showing in between.

Note: On the inside, I used the sentiment 'Imagine the Possibilities' from the stamp set 'Word Play' which is available as a single stamp~ click here for more details. There are two other stamp sets that are currently available to order as SINGLE stamps!! Yay!!! Check out my Online Store under promotions for complete details!

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Pleasant Poppies (129499 C), Word Play 120651 C)
Card Stock: Naturals Ivory
Ink: Midnight Muse, Rich Razzleberry, More Mustard and Versamark
Access: crochet trim (118481), heat tool (129053), Pewter embossing powder (124114), stamping sponges (101610), Designer ribbon slides (127834)

Have a great day!!
