Stamp Camp goodies!!

This past Friday I hosted a Chinese New Year/Valentine themed 'Stamp Camp' and we had a BLAST!! As a demonstrator it takes time to think of what projects you want to show, getting the supplies ready...cleaning the house (LOL) and I usually try to provide something light and tasty to eat...I made Oriental Chicken Salad With Crunchy Ramen Noodles, and it's delicious..thinking about it is making my mouth water!! I just wanted to share the recipe because it's quick and easy to prepare.

This little robot was inspired from one I saw in a Better Homes & Gardens Scrapbooks Etc. (Feb. 2011) magazine...you know you should never throw these babies out!! I started looking through it the other day(rather than buying a newer issue and low and behold there are TONS of ideas. This one I liked because you could alter it to make it any size you want, here it's just a standard card front but it could easily be made into a card.

Here are some details:
The base measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4", layered with a piece that measures 5 1/4" x 4". That piece was spritzed with water and embossed using a texturz plate (this one is retired). Spraying your CS with water gives a much deeper impression...try it!! I then used a sponge and Whisper White Craft ink and rubbed over the words to really make it POP!
Robot
Head: 1 " square punch, the eyelids and mouth were made using the owl punch and attached with 2-way glue pen
Body: wrap desired candy with a belly band of DSP
Arms & Legs: cut desired length and run through crimper
Hands & Feet: circle punches and cut in half

The last thing I did was spray the entire thing with Champage Mist shimmer paint.

This next card uses one of the exclusive sets you can earn from SAB...it's called Elementary Elegance. I LOVE how trendy this set is, the keys and crowns you see all over th place from jewelry to home decor and now...stamps!!

This card also uses the new pleated satin ribbon found in the Occasions Mini (125571). Pretty easy card to make, the Basic Black CS was embossed using the Stripes embossing folder (123128). The stamp set coordinates with the Curly Label punch (119851) so I stamped the main image with Basic Black, then chose my words, stamped them also with black onto Sahara Sand CS and punched it out and that piece was popped up using a dimensional. Added a rhinestone to the crown, and sprayed the entire front with Silver Foil Smooch Spritz (118771). Voila!!

This last card was basically a CASE (copy and steal everything) from this card here. I loved it, and she shows a quick photo tutorial if you are interested in how to make the scallop circle die into a card..which also still fits into an envelope (yay!!). This set is so fun!!

Who wouldn't love getting a card that they can actually play with??

Since we had fortune cookies for dessert, we also made a cute little paper fortune cookie. I am going to make a video tutorial showing how simple and easy it is and you can use them for any holiday..not just Valentine's. I will post that over the weekend. So stay tuned!!

Here are some samples to get you inspired for Valentine's Day and all of these products were made with ONE pack of Everyday Enchantment DSP...I love this paper, it's so shabby chic! I have earned several packs of this beautiful paper and can't wait to make more goodies, so stay tuned!! Yes...that does mean I have spent alot (hee hee!!)

Very simple, quick and easy and the hubby helped me figure out how to hang the hearts, I thought they would also look cute over a window or hung on a branch? Here is a close-up:

Here is a glass block that I bought at Lowes and I think that this little guy will get decorated seasonally...won't that be cute?? I put a 10-count strand of lights inside and the picture really doesn't do it justice...it's so pretty IRL. Here is what it looks from the back:

All of these projects came together pretty quickly because of the Big Shot and dies...I LOVE our new Framelits, these used the Hearts Collection (125599). Shhhh....there are even more designs coming out too!! I am SO excited!

I also used another new product in the Occasions Mini Catalog...the scented embossing powder (pg. 35)...remember how we had to make 'scratch-n-sniff' cards with clear embossing powder and Kool-Aid?? Well...this is already done for you. You can smell it immediatly after you remove the lid of the powder. I embossed the angel and tag on the glass light and on the hanging hearts below the 'love always' tag. I used the vanilla (125590) and it's faint but elegant. Not sure how long the scent lasts...but it's pretty cool so far!!

This banner was fun~ or maybe I should say funny...I cut the pennants and then the hardest part was trying to figure out in what order did they look best...since I used only 1 piece of DSP per pennant I wanted the other side to be 'pretty' too!! So...after a couple glasses of wine and a fun little game that my daughter Regan and I came up with, this is how it ended up. She would hold the small pennants, I had the large ones...we then took turns like playing cards and layed each one down making sure that we liked the colors on both sides and that it matched the previous one (guess you had to be there) . We both agreed that we liked it..then it was off to decorate and we LOVED it finished and hung! Here is the other side:

Vantine's Heart Wreath Tutorial

Here is what I made over the weekend~
It uses the new fabric called Twitterpated (125412) found in the current Occasions Mini Catalog.

Saturday I dedicated my time to watching football. I was glued to the game Saturday night..what a victory!! I am originally from Rhode Island and a ~~big~~ HUGE Patriots fan... so I am very happy!! It took days, seriously I mean DAYS to take down all of the Christmas decorations around the house and I was SO not in the mood to do it~ it's so much work. It's all been put away and I'm focused on the next little holiday...Valentine's Day!!

While watching the games yesterday I made this heart wreath, since today is MLK and the banks are closed (and I work at a bank at BB&T) I felt that it was time I made a video tutorial..so here you go!! The kids are home from school today too...they were so funny trying to be quiet while filming...you can't see in the video but Aiden is walking behind me on his tippy-toes trying not to laugh!! Silly kids!!

Happy New Year!!!

Shame shame...everyone knows my name!! Looking back at my last post I am not really sure where exactly to begin...sheesh!!Bats??? Halloween?? Where has the time gone??
Obviously we are now into the new year...welcome 2012!!
Happy New Year to you all!!

Obviously there were a couple of holidays in there that seem as though I passed right over~ trust me I didn't...like many of you I fought the crowds shopping....spent way more $$ than I should have (smile)...baked-baked and baked some more~ yes John did help (o.k. he probably cooked more than I did) and in addition I caught the lovely 'common' cold. In a nutshell that is about it, I did enjoy a wonderful visit with my mother (she is living in Tuscon, AZ). Spent some time with my brother, his wife Karolina and their BEAUTIFUL cute little monster Kaia...my niece is about to turn 2 and I assisted in giving her a bath~ it was SO much fun!! I miss the kids (mine) when they were that age, they grow so quickly it's hard to believe...my 'baby' just turned 10!! His birthday was in December too...so there is another holiday that occurred since my last post...this girl has been BUSY!!

Since I feel guilty about not sharing some recent projects here are just a few...I know that the holidays have past...but maybe they will inspire you for next season..or change out the theme to make it apply to what you need!
This first beauty is a 5x7 frame that I made (without the glass). I picked up the frame at Hobby Lobby...OMG...I had heard of this store...but where I live there weren't any stores...guess what???

I LOVE making these little ol' lollies...with our new Simply Scored tool..it's EASY!!

This past Convention I joined a 12x12 Calendar swap. The way it worked out was great~ in a group of 12, each participant chooses a month and designs (2) 12x12 pages that 'resemble' that month. Here was what I received from another Stampin' Up! Demonstrator~ Wendy Halverson...it's beautiful!!

It inspired me along with art work that was shown in a recent Stampin' Success (a publication for SU! demo's). I told you it's a BEAUTY!!

Here is the month I created for January:

Hard to tell from the photo but on the Marina Mist 12x12 piece there are sponged snowflakes in Marina Mist ink that were created from the negative image of the Sizzix Snowflake #2 die (113460). Embossed snowflakes from the Northern Flurry embossing folder (120902) on the Poppy Parade CS. I used the stamp set Season of Friendship (111776 W). The bird and tree were stamped onto Whisper White CS covered with a piece of vellum CS. On the vellum I stamped/embossed snowflake with Dazzling Diamonds EP. It's so much prettier IRL (in real life) because I sprayed Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz (118772) ALL over!!

All of the months received were awesome, makes a great gift as a completed scrapbook!!

Here is the Christmas card that I made, different layout and I like the way it came out...pretty easy to mass produce and since the card base is one layer it doesn't use a ton of CS.

It's a bird! It's a plane...no it's a bat!!

I first saw this bat here on Shelli's blog~ she had demo'ed it at a recent Regional event and it immediatly went into my fav's.

I finally got around to making them...honestly I was thinking that they were going to be a bit difficult...NOT!!

Using the Big Shot with the Petal Cone die (121810) and the Perfect Pennants die (123126) made it a breeze...so I made a couple of them and hung them on a branch that I spray painted black. It's hung with some fishing line on my curtain rod~ began thinking that it might be something I keep up through the holidays...picture a white branch with cute little handmade ornaments!! Right now they are empty but I plan on adding some sweet little treats as a Halloween gift to our neigbors.

This card shown was featured in a previous post...but since it wanted to be on our piano...and it didn't want to be lonely I made it a friend by covering a battery operated candle with matching Frightful Sight DSP (122351) and voila!! Here is a close-up:

Here is a banner that I made in about 10 minutes or less...seriously!! I used the same Frightful Sight DSP and the Perfect Pennants die (123126). Punched out letters with the Serif Essentials Alphabet die (113464).

The other side says 'WICKED'.....because I love witches and these little witch legs in my dining room are the cutest!!

Here I have covered three of our Decor Blocks (116829) in Pick Your Poison DSP (124001). The blocks are shown on pg. 181 in the Idea Book & Catalog. These were totally an inspiration from another demonstrator Donna Hill (thanks Donna!!). You get 4 smooth, MDF natural wood 3" blocks per package for only $9.95. I love these little guys...you could decorate them for all 4 seasons and turn them as needed or stack em'...B-A-B-Y would be cute for a baby shower...the possibilities are endless!!
I also just covered the candles with the same DSP...easy peasy!!

I had mentioned that I had a 'really' cool Halloween card to share with you?? Well...don't worry...it's coming. I am actually in the process of making a video to show how it works...stay tuned!!

Here is one cute and simple idea for a quick treat~

I used our new Cellophane Bags (124134), some candy corn and made a tag. Then I just stuck it onto printed Whisper White CS with some glue dots.

I started to carve a pumpkin
With my carving knife and scoop,
But the pumpkin got so scared
That he took a little poop!
It looked so cute and funny
Just like a candy treat,
So I'm sharing it with you now

I think that might be it for Halloween decorations and ideas...need to get started on some Fall/Winter goodies~ Christmas will be here before you know it..isn't that crazy??

Apples, Leaves and Cajun Chicken pasta~ read on!!

So the other day I was in a mood to cook up somthin' good...where did I turn?? I ended up online checking out one of my favorites sites: the pioneer woman...ever heard of her?? If not..then I suggest you check it out now...well maybe after you enjoy reading this post.

This is what I made~ YUM!!

It's called Cajun Chicken Pasta and my friends~ it was SO good!! Posting this picture is making me drool!
I seriously think that everything she makes is out of this world and well worth the mess in the kitchen!
The rules around here are: If you cook...you don't clean!!

Okay now on to some stampin'~ it's why your here right??

I promised some Halloween goodies and first and foremost..I don't want to disapoint anyone~

Here is our Simply Adorned jewelry...pg. 200 in the Idea Book & Catalog...at my next Stamp Camp we be making a total of 5 charm inserts for the 1"x 1 1/4" charm. I wanted to showcase how easy it is to change up the charms for any season or holiday..so here's Halloween's example (I'll post the others in a later post).

I used the 24" chain (116800) and rectangle charm (116798) along with one of the trinket keys from a set of 4 (121892) and a black crystal bauble (121011).

The inserts were stamped and I LOVE how our new Pewter embossing powder (124114) matches PERFECTLY!!

This card features my newest favorite stamp set called Countryside(116998 W, 120495 C) this is a GREAT set for when you are needing more 'manly' cards. I came across so many great creations on http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ but this is the card that I decided on for my inspiration...I needed one that didn't involve too much coloring because yup it's a Stamp Camp card...so the highlights on the truck were easy...Poppy Parade marker (119801) for the apples (these markers are a set of 5 for the 2010-2012 In Color Markers) and some white chalk (Stampin' Pastels 120962)~ LOVE IT!!

This next card came to me so quickly...don't you love it when that happens?? I have been off work the past four days and the ideas and have been flowin'..what do they call it?? Stampin' Mojo??
Again a great 'man' card if needed, but I don't know...it's pretty too!! The insides of both cards I have left blank because I don't know which sentiment I want to use yet...but they will probably both use stamps from Curly and Cute (117014 W, 120510 C). This is the first time I have used this denim ribbon...where has it been all my life?? Oh yeah~my stampin' closet!! I love it~ it really does look and feel like blue jeans!!

I knew that I wanted to use a stick...plane and simple a stick...so I ventured outside in the rain and stood under a big ol' Oak tree to look for some small dry twigs...I quickly learned I was under attack..squirrels in the tree were dropping acorns all over the place!!

Now check this out...
'BABY' acorns...aren't these the cutest things you have ever seen?? My mind is now racing on what crafty thing I can do with these little guys!!

'Boo'!! Did I scare you??

Here is what is hanging above my stampin' desk~ totally inspired by Kimberly's beautiful creation shown here...mine is nowhere close to her beauty but it makes me smile!! I love this DSP called Frightful Sight(122351). I think I have gone through two packs already...the colors are just awesome for Halloween and the polka dotted background pages can be used for so many things besides Halloween.

Here is a close-up of what I did to two of the spiders...
did you notice that this little guy only has 6 legs?? I think that may have been an oversight~ he still looks like a creepy little spider!! I took a small piece of our White Baker's Twine (124262) and un-twisted it to get just one string. Poked a hole in the CS and taped it from the back. It's also secured under the CS at the top to make it look like he's just hangin' around.

Using the same DSP I made a Halloween card too. I also grabbed some of the sparkly Glimmer Paper (124005) in silver~ this paper is BEAUTIFUL!!!

The card base is Cajun Craze CS, embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder (117335). Added some Basic Black 5/8" satin ribbon (117285). I embossed the greeting using the Scaredy Cat stamp set (122555 W, 122557 C) with Basic Black Craft ink (102192) and clear embossing powder (109130)...stamped it again onto Whisper White CS, cut the little ghost out and stuck him on with a dimensional (104430).

Lastly, here is a cute little 3-D item for you.

Inside the witch's hat is a small Reeses cup. This idea came from Wendy (I think like 3 years ago!!). I tweaked mine just a bit~ but you'll get the idea. The bottom of mine uses the 2 1/2" circle punch (120906).

The Halloween card, witch hat and the 'Give Thanks' Diorama card in this post are the goodies that were created for my last Stamp Camp. Over the weekend I will be posting some more Halloween goodies including 3-D treats, home decor and a really cool Halloween card!! Stay tuned!!

Lastnight we enjoyed a 'Shamrock Stampers' Downline meeting and after a quick discussion and MDS video we got down to stampin'. At this meeting I asked those that were interested to sign-up for a Holiday Themed Shoebox Swap. Here is the card I created:

It's a very easy 'quilt' card made using our new Holly Berry Bouquet DSP (124004) and 1" square punch (124094). So here is how I created mine~
Punch out a total of 20 squares and lay them out as a 'dry' run till you are happy with your quilt design. Then adhere to a piece of CS that measures 4"x5". I covered my entire sheet of CS with adhesive from our gluestick..made it SO easy to apply the squares. If you don't have our gluestick..then be sure to add it to your next order (104045). You get two of them and they seriously are the best!! Then center that piece over your Top Note die (113463) and cut out. Then I embossed it using the Snow Burst embossing folder (124096). Not done yet...now to finish it up I added some yummy 3/8" velvet Very Vanilla trim (125637), linen thread (104199), mini jingle bells (124116), and hand-made tags.

Lots of these goodies are from the current Holiday Mini Catalog. Man...it makes me so excited for the upcoming months. These toys are so fun to play with and creating these cards and gifts make me SO happy!!

This set is the Hostess set from the Holiday Mini (you can earn it FREE!). Here I stamped it with Early Espresso ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. The last thing I did and it's hard to tell from the photos...is 'spritzed' it with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz (118772). Oh wait...almost forgot the envelope! I 'spritzed' it too and stamped the front with Pines & Poinsettias (123762 W), (123764 C) ...which matches this paper perfectly!!!

It uses the Snowflake die (113460) and a Cherry Cola can~ cute huh?? Used the same embossing folder as noted above, added one of our glimmer brads (121003) then sprayed the whole card (inside and outside) with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (116806). Here is the inside:

I had SO much fun making this card, it wasn't that it was difficult...just a bunch of steps...but the end result was SO worth it...can't you feel the warmth from the flames?? It was also the first time that I used our new Mica Flakes (124115) these little flakes are sure pretty..but if you don't like glitter or Easter grass...you may not likey...just sayin'.

This last card is Anne's with a dash of me... I changed mine a little. I didn't get a photo of hers...but have asked her to send me one and I will post hers as soon as I get it.

The window was created using our 1 3/8" square punch (119877). Wouldn't it be great if Stampin' Up! made a die for this?? Behind that is a piece of vellum VS and I stamped the image in going gray, then flipped it over...notice how the image is different than in the catalog?? It looks more faded in person as if you are truly looking into a window...added some more Mica (aka snow). The faux wreath was made with Always Artichoke CS and our 2 3/8" scallop punch (118874) and 1 3/8" circle punch (119860). I embossed it with the Snow Burst embossing folder (124096) and added a Real Red 1/8" taffeta bow (119251). The last wintery step was spraying it with Frost White Shimmer Paint (116854).

That's it for Christmas...now back to Halloween!!! Here in Virginia the weather sure seems like the holidays are upon us...it's FREEZING~ the heat has been on the past few days and the sunshine has vanished. Outside it's rainy, raw and wet..YUCK!! It's nice to stay inside and stamp the day away. I have lots of projects to share with you and since I'm off from work..I am taking advantage of my free time!! Here is a project that Anne made...I would love to take the credit but I just wouldn't have the patience to make this topiary.

She punched out about a million or so of the Blossom Triple Layer Punch (122464) and added cool little spiders using the Scaredy Cat stamp set (122555 W, 122557 C) then to make the bodies look 3-D here is a cool little trick~ color our Basic Rhinestones (119246) with a black Sharpie marker and ta-da....isn't it AMAZING??

Lastly here is what I made for my downline members who attended the meeting:

It's a box made using our Bitty Box & Envelope Die (115967) and Basic Black CS. The topper was made with the Pick Your Poison DSP (124001) and no...I did not use the Piece of Poison stamp set...because I forgot to order it (OOPS!) but I punched out the skeleton heads from one of the pieces of paper and 1" circle punch (119868) layered onto 1 1/4" circle punch (119861). Love those rhinestone eyes!!!
Inside:

.... a 'spooky' little hair clip.

Here is the back...I hot glued a 3/4" circle (119873) punched piece of CS to the back and then to the barrett.

This was really easy to make:
Details: satin fabric and tulle (is that how you spell that??)
Cut out circles using the Circles # 2 die (114526). My layers were:
-largest circle- 2 black, 1 orange
-2nd largest circle- 2 black, 1 orange
-3rd largest circle- 1 black
Then you just heat with the heat tool (100005). I sewed them all together with the skeleton button and that's it!! I also sprayed mine with the Champagne Mist Shimmer...man I use that stuff on EVERYTHING!!
Told you it was easy!!

Finally~ I made my first Diorama Card!!

Here is one of the cards that will be made at my upcoming Stamp Camp this Friday...it's called a Diorama 'box' card. Click here for the tutorial I followed by Dawn (gotta love her!!) I was always so intimidated to try one...because it looked so involved but I was amazed at exactly how simple it was!! So take a look and try it out for yourself!!

I began thinking how cute these would be as individual place settings on the table for Thanksgiving~ you could easily create personalized names printed with MDS (My Digital Studio). Great party favors...etc.

Sunflowers anyone??

As soon as I saw this stamp from Stampin' Up!...duh calledSunflower (123606) I knew it was a MUST have stamp!! Today was actually the first time I used it since ordering it back in July...oops!! Shame on me ~ too many stamps...too little time!!

Another must have are these buttons...since my previous post I have used them on two other projects...if they were edible I would eat 'em!!

My inspiration came from the pin. I bought the pin from this cute little country shop with the intentions that I would try to re-create it using our dies, some felt and a stick. Sounds simple huh?? Well..speaking of not having any time to stamp...like I have the time to try to create another beauty like this one...SO now I have it as a cute little gift!
Note: Hard to tell from the photo but the edges of the base card were sponged with the Early Espresso and the big ol' button was 'faux' sewn using the same string from the Mini Vintage Tags..stuck on with glue dots. The sunflower was stamped and embossed using clear embossing powder and sprayed with the color spritzer tool and Early Espresso Marker.

Note: After I assembled the pocket die, I trimmed the top so that the flap measured 1" from the score line and punched the edge using the Scallop Edge Border. Oh...and I almost forgot that I spritzed the 'hand-made ' tag with the Champagne Mist Shimmer paint to match the Vintage tag on the card. It's hard to see that since the flash really washes it out from my camera~ but it's there I swear!! So pretty in person!!

You getting ready for Halloween?? So many things to share with you....where to begin??

First of all I wanted to share my swap card from Convention this past July. It is called a 'Waterfall Card'. Click here for a tutorial. I had signed up for a 'WOW' swap and 'wow'..what was I thinking?? I ended up making 122 of them!! This is what 122 of them looked like~

I decided on a Halloween themed card WAY back in July because it's my favorite holiday!!

This took some time and quite a bit of card stock!! Oh well..when I saw the goodies I got back it was all worth it. Here is what the 'waterfall' card looks like as it's opened...cute huh??

There were other swaps that I joined and I'll share those with you in a later post. But here is a quick and cute idea using our new Spice Cake fabric (124066), Designer Buttons (124113) and Spice Cake DSP (124003) all found in our Holiday Mini Catalog. Have you checked out the current Mini Catalog?? LOVE IT!!

There are so many cute goodies,I honestly don't know where to begin. I had an idea of what I needed to make for a co-worker...I made her a CD and since she knows that I am a demonstator..I had to make it cute...

Here I have used the DSP for the inside cover and decorated it with a flower made from the Fun Flowers die (121812) and Big Shot (113439).

Hint: to get the crinkly effect..spray each layer of your flower with water and scrunch it up into a ball in your hand. Open it carefully, let them dry and layer as desired. I attached with brad and hot-glued a big ol' button on top threaded with some hemp twine (100982). Notice that gorgeous striped grosgrain ribbon?? That is one of my favorite ribbons....cut it down the center and pull at it to get it frayed and all shabby lookin'~ love that style...you can't mess it up!! Everything looks all pretty... all grungy and vintage like!!

The stamp set that I used here is called Friends Never Fade (118750 W, 120618 C). I stamped it with Soft Suede and embossed it with clear embossing powder (109130).

Oh...forgot to mention and it's hard to tell in the photos but it's oh so pretty in real life~ but all of it was spritzed with the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (116806). Ask me if you need directions on that one...it's awesome on about EVERY project!! The kids are probably afraid I'll start 'spritzing' them before school!!

Here is the inside: I used the Creatively Yours stamp set (122610 W, 122612 C) and did the same as above, punched it out with the extra-large oval punch (119859). Along with the CD I made a cute pin and coordinating box... the pin was made using the same die and read somewhere a cool technique...spread your fabric layers out onto a piece of printer copy paper. Spray with starch (I used heavy duty fabric stiffener) and wad into a ball within the paper. Then carefully unroll the paper and let the fabric flower layers dry completely and layer as desired. I used a total of 9 layers, 3 of each pattern. I poked a hole in the center using our paper-piercing tool (116631) and added a Very Vanilla 5/8" brad (112533).

So...how did I make the box?? I used the Big Shot and my favorite Petal Cone die (121810). Click here for a great tutorial using this die but altering the die cut shapes into a cute little Take-Out box. I then embossed the box with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder (120175), spritzed with some shimmer and added some striped grosgrain ribbon~voila!!

Holiday Mini Catalog is here!!!!!

Can you believe it??? I have been waiting for this day~ being a demonstrator I had the privelidge of ordering early and have been playing with some of the new goodies....wait until you see my creations!! But now you too are able to order and get ready for the holidays. What do you like best about the holidays??

I LOVE the fall colors, food and spending time with family and friends. I think my favorite holiday is Halloween...I actually started decorating around the house 2 weeks ago...and you will soon see why. My poor kids think their momma has lost it...I bought a tree (a very primitive tree....it looks burnt!!) While I was putting it together Aiden (my youngest) asks "It's Christmas already??" I said..."No silly...this tree is brown..it's to celebrate Fall!". Of course..this was still in the month of August and the kids had not even returned back to school~silly me!!

'Good-bye' Summer....'Hello' Fall!!

I know...isn't it AMAZING?? It comes from a fellow demonstrator Teresa Evangelista in Florida, I contacted her to see how she came up with this beauty because it is such and awesome technique!! (Thanks for the incredible inspiration Teresa!!) The tag was made using Sizzix Big Shot (113439) and Two Tags die (115954)..there is a trick too on how to avoid the score lines on the die...mark on the side where the fold is (I used our white Signo gel pen (105021)). Then roll the die into the Big Shot as you normally would but don't go all the way through...stop at the line you drew and back out...turn the die around and do the other side. Then use your paper snips to cut it out...GENIOUS!! I am thinking about making a video tutorial but with her permission..so I'll let you know!!

This is perfect for 'back-to-school'..my kids head back on August 24th.... Do you remember the commercial...where the dad is singing "It's the most wonderful time of the year!" I honestly have mixed emotions about it~ last month I decided it was time to go back to work since the kids are getting older. I have spent the last 13 years as a a SAHM and LOVED every moment!! So now during the days that I am at work I miss them terribly!! The last two days I was scheduled off and I have caught up on the laundry...gotten ready for tomorrow's Stamp Camp and cleaned the house...now it's time to relax with the kids and do some school shopping!!

Lastly is this decorated Fancy Favor box, made with the Fancy Favor die (115965) for the Sizzix Big Shot. Here is an image of the side:

The flower was created using the ornament punch (119847).

My downline Anne Butterfield made/cased this cute little rose box using the same ornament punch and hand-created box. She sponged the edges to add dimension and it's BEAUTIFUL in person!!

Both are similar, hers used more petals which created a fuller flower....now here is a CUTE idea~ before I attached mine to the box, it was laying flat on the table..I thought about how cool it would look holding a tealight candle in the middle?? The possibilities are endless. Not sure if you can tell from the photo but the entire flower was spritzed with rubbing alcohol and the Champagne Mist shimmer paint (116806) this stuff makes everything prettier. I added an Antique brad (117273) to the center of a 1" circle punch (119868) and popped it up with dimensionals (104430). Hint: both the flower and box are held together using sticky strip (104294)...it is a must-have adhesive when creating 3-D projects.

That's about it for today, as summer comes to and end think about what the upcoming months have in store... Halloween, Thanksgiving...and Christmas!!! The next Holiday Mini catalog has SO many cute things to get your creative juices flowing...it's so exciting sitting here thinking about all the goodies I'm planning on making so stay tuned!!

Spring?? No...it's SUMMER now!!!

Can summer be here already?? The above photo is from Memorial Day weekend...a true sign that summer is here!! We set up our 'redneck' pool and it didn't take long for the water to warm up! Those few days were in the 100's~ my kind of weather!! Today it doesn't feel like it at all~ we (the family) are at Lake Anna for a few days and the water is actually warmer than the air (current outside temp is about 70 degrees). The kids went fishing this morning and caught a few catfish and have asked to swim....but I honestly think it's too cold for me! I have bribed them with sweets and indoor games. We might travel in to the big ol' town of Louisa today to look for movies or bowling.

Since I am on 'vacation' I am able to catch up on much needed blogging, e-mails and updates.

Not even sure what was going on in my life in my last post...since it was so long ago!! First thing was our computer in the basement (our main PC) decided it didn't want to work anymore..it was less than 6 months old!! It has since been serviced twice and seems to be okay (thank-goodness). It is the computer that I use for Stampin' Up! so for that time I pretty much took my stampin' business on hold. It feels good to get back in with both feet!! Stay tuned for all the latest news and updates.

After Memorial Day came the end of the school year and graduation...as the school year ended we were busy with making plans for parties, family and friends coming to visit. The month of June rolled in like a wild fire!! Our oldest son Ryan graduated highschool...where does the time go? In the fall he will attend Howard County Community College. Ready for a card??

Spring is Blossoming!!

Here I have to share with you some project that I made...these two cards are what we will be making at my next Stamp Camp.

Here is the first one:

Doesn't it scream Paris!!!! I have never actually been... I have been all over the country (Continental USA and Costa Rica) that's it~ I hate flying...my feet were meant to be on the ground!! I am waiting to grow out of my fear of flying because there is SO much to see in our BEAUTIFUL world!!

However I did recently book my ticket to fly to Salt Lake City, Utah for Stampin' Up!'s Convention (July 13-16th 2011)!!! I am so stinkin' excited that my fears have all been shoved to the back of my brain (for now!!) Hey..I can order wine on the plane right?? (hee hee)

Here is a close up of the 'beautiful' Eifel Tower... it's a little hard to tell from the photo that I embossed with silver embossing powder.

When my son Tyler was two years old...(yes I did say 2) he had a passport and went to Paris with his grandparents!! I have pictures of him as a baby doing all the 'touristy' things and he saw the Eifel tower..no I am not jealous AT ALL!!! Sadly...he was too young and doesn't remember...but he's not going back before I go!!

*Please note: When you use embossing powder with classic inks...you need to sprinkle your powder quickly as classic ink dries FAST...or you could emboss with 'pigment' ink such as our Craft Stampin' Spots.

We will also be making this adorable bookmark...the flower is made out of CS...and is so pretty in person you would think that it was fabric...which made me think "Hey...our fabric would be perfect for these too using the same die!" Here is a close-up: Can you see the shimmer?? So pretty!! It makes me smile!! For details check out Dawn Griffith's video tutorial. As she would say "Love it!"

But this was much faster and perfect for a Stamp Camp...I tried looking for a cute book to share with you and remembered I lent it to a girlfriend (oops!). The book I am referring to?? Now made into a must see movie.. Emily Giffin's Something Borrowed?? I read it a few years back along with her othes and am waiting to read 'Heart of the Matter' but I think I am leaning towards the purchase of a Kindle~ and a new camera, and a new hip??

Yup...my MRI is scheduled for this Thursday~ I'm a bit worried about what they will say is wrong. What if at 35 years old I need a 'hip replacement'?? I am a tad bit of a 'drama queen' and always assume the 'worst case scenario'. Just typing the drama queen bit reminded me that I have to share pictures of my Simply Adorned charms...I am going to be teaching a class (Stamp Camp) and those details are coming soon too...my mind is just racing of all the things I have lined up and to share..so even though I have not posted in awhile~ doesn't mean I haven't been busy in my little stampin' cave!! Petal Cone Carrot!!

Hey there~ I am just loving the new Petal Cone die (121810)...I know I mentioned that I liked it in a previous post (where I made the ice cream cone card??) Well...there are just SO many reasons to buy this die~ it does SO much!! Sure this is a carrot, but as shown in the Occassions Mini Catalog, there were several more ways that it was decorated to make a great treat holder...it's a perfect size for a bunch of treats!! This is how it's opened...you just slide the button up the grosgrain ribbon..and ta-da!! Don't you just love the little bunny tail??

I apologize for the blurry photo..I am in desperate need of a new camera~ my cheesy Kodak has seen enough...I accidentally dropped it a few weeks ago and since then it's been even worse (go figure!). I hope to get a new one before I go to Convention~ there will be so many pictures to take...anyone have any suggestions on a good 'point & shoot'?

Now...here is another cute and clever 'CASE' (copy and steal everything). This idea comes from Mary Fish who also shows a quick video on how to use the Petal Card Extra-Large punch (119273) to create a little box that is the perfect size for little Hershey kisses!! Wouldn't these be cute at the dinner table as place settings??

For the chick: I used Crumb Cake CS for the box and Whisper White 1" circle punch (119868) for the egg (then just cut zig-zag pattern for 'cracked' look. The Daffodil delight CS (chick body) was punched using the 3/4" x 15/16" oval punch (120908) from the Holiday Mini Carryover List and the wing, beak and eye is from the Two-Step Owl Extra-Large punch (118074). I then wrapped 1/8" Daffodil Delight ribbon around the box...cute huh??

For the bunny: I used Whisper White CS and the 3/4" circle punch (119873) for the head, the same oval punch noted above for the body and then for the ears I used 5-Petal Flower punch (119880)....then using the 2-way glue pen (100425) added the cute 'cotton tail'. Oh~ almost forgot...the whiskers were made with .7mm jewelry cord (attached on the back with mini glue dots). Wrapped this box with Certainly Celery 1/8" taffeta ribbon (119255).

Since I was on a roll and I really like these 'soft' colors for Easter~ I decided to make something for Home Decor: The letters were cut out with Mr. Big Shot and the Serif Essentials dies (113464). The bunny was made the same way as noted above...his butt is too cute!! The 'egg' behind the letter 'I' was embossed with clear embossing powder (hard to tell from photo). Now..notice the 'eggs' behind the 'S'? Those are also the SAME oval punch as noted above...so order yours now!! I love this one!

Washer/Magnet photo tutorial

First and foremost...today is a GREAT day!! I was able to register for Stampin' Up!'s Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah!!!! So...even though I am fighting a cold, limping with my bad leg...I am soaring on cloud 9!!

It is such a great time and this year I have some friends/downline demonstrators who are able to go too!! Time to start thinking of swaps!! In years past I have not made any...and always regret it. So this year I plan on starting early (like now) and not feel pressured when it's time to start packing!! Swaps are a great way to share ideas, inspiration and get ahold a variety of samples to showcase at Workshops and Stamp Camps. I will share with you what I create when I know what I'm making~ wish me luck!! My goal is to have a total of at least 150 swaps!!

Better get busy!!

Here is a photo tutorial on my card in the previous post:

It's pretty simple, first stamp your card base. Then hide the washer behind a layer of DSP (works better than CS because it's thinner). I adhered it directly to the DSP using double-sided tape. I layered another stamped piece of CS, but this step is optional. Then attach the magnet~ here I used a flat glass backed marble that I glued using Crystal Effects (101055) a magnet to. Again, here is the finished card.

Now here is another card/example that uses the same concept. This card uses goodies that I earned FREE from the Sale-a-Bration promo. In addtion it uses one of the cutest stamp sets ever~ Create a Cupcake (121915 W, 121982 C). It looks so yummy in person, the top part of the cupcake (the frosting) was stamped first with Daffodil Delight classic ink then I quickly embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder (101930).

In other news (non stamping related)... I have had an odd injury now for about 8 weeks. It all started when I began running ALOT (about 4 miles every other day). I realized that I had a goal... I wanted to participate in a 1/2 marathon and working towards that goal I began training and really taking it seriously. I have been a runner for the majority of my life and truly enjoy it...and then all of a sudden I realized I couldn't stretch with my left leg, it hurt to turn my leg/knee out to the side. But it's not my knee...it seems that it's my hip/groin area. I thought at first that I had possibly pulled my groin so I rested it and waited...and waited some more. Now..8 weeks later I am exactly the same and waiting to have an MRI...ugh! Nothing makes you feel older than when you realize that you are falling apart!! Yesterday I went to see an orthapedic surgeon and had X-Rays but he felt that scheduling an MRI would show more detail and hopefully lead to a diagnosis. So since he mentioned getting plenty rest...that's what I'm doing. As I post this...I'm using my laptop (in bed) and for that I find myself needing to apologize for not posting sooner~ I meant to post a cute project and promised a photo tutorial for using the washers with magnets...so please be patient with me. It's coming!! I should be able to do it tomorrow when I head downstairs to my happy/stampin' space!!

'Spring Rings'

Hi there!! Lots to fill you in on~ I had a fabulous Stamp Camp this past Friday!! Here are the rings that we made along with the two cards in my previous post.

Since Mother's Day is just around the corner these would be a great idea for a handmade gift!!

We used the Big Shot and Matchbox Die (114890) for the gift using Marina Mist textured CS and wrapped a belly band around the box with Springtime Vintage DSP (121782) andVictoria crochet trim (118481). Added a cute little tag using the Jewelry tag punch (117190) and Tiny Tags (118091 W, 118592 C) stamp set. Attach with a safety pin from the Vintage Trinkets (118764) and voila!

Here are the other colors of Adornments (121879) featured in the Occassions Mini Catalog. They make great embellishments to you paper crafts too!! Glue them onto your next card or scrapbook page for some instant beauty!! You get 24 pieces (8 ea. of 3 colors) for only $5.95 US!!

Here I am with one of my my downline gals Wendy~ "hi" Wendy!! We had a great time catching up, learning new techniques, enjoyed some fabulous food and of course there was LOTS of stamping!!

This is the card I came up with for the swap: It uses a new stamp set that will available April 1st called Hope & Strength...it's a BEAUTIFUL set so be sure to check back on the 1st for more inspiration using it. This card uses another 'sneak-peak' item... any guesses?? It's new DSP that will be featured in the next 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog..and it's all gorgeous!! Sometimes when I see our DSP I want it in drapery, furniture and more...shoot...I would probably eat it I like it so much!! The center glass marble is actually a removeable magnet and in tomorrow's post I will show a photo tutorial on how easy it was to make!!

Happy Spring!!

Yippee!! It's SPRING~ and when I see robins begin to appear in February I get goosebumps all over. For that reason alone I would have to say that they are probably one of my favorite birds. This stamp set that I used on this card is called Nature Walk (121925 W) (121997 C) from the current Occasions Mini Catalog. I LOVE this set..and you could color this bird to be a bunch of different species!! Here is a close-up photo: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!

It matches the DSP that I have used here called Botanical Gazette (121783). Okay...wanna know a little secret?? I have 'owned' our Watercolor Paper (105019) for years...and have NEVER used it!! Not sure why...I had always found that our regualr card stock had worked fine...until I tried it!! What a difference it made~ I'm thrilled with the result.

Note: You need to use Staz-On ink if you are watercoloring or do what I did and emboss the image!! I first stamped the bird image with Versamark, then Chocolate Chip and then you stamp and emboss with clear embossing powder.

The one she made was for an invitation which I thought was the SO clever...you can use this for 'scoops' of reasons...happy birthday, congrats... or even after someone has a tonsillectomy?? You get the idea...add a gift card from Cold Stone Creamery~ Mmmmm!

I did have to use our 5 1/2" square envelopes (107289) for it to fit nicely.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Here is a quick and easy little shamrock that I made using Garden Green CS. In real life it actually looks like piece of glass!!

Directions: Punch out 3 hearts from the Heart to Heart extra large punch (119881)and the stem from the Two-step Bird extra large punch (117191). I adhered them to a 3/4 circle punch (119873) using a 2-way glue pen (100425). Now comes the fun part~ apply 2-way glue to the entire piece and drench in glitter (I happened to have Stampin' Up!'s WAY old green glitter...it's probably from over 5 years ago!)

Tip: I have heard that you can die the dazzling diamond glitter using classic dye re-inkers) Sounds cool~ I just haven't tried it yet...but I'm sure you could search 'how-to'.

Then when that's dry you will cover the entire shamrock with a thin layer of Crystal Effects (101055). I stuck mine on to a hairclip with some hot-glue and voila!! I have asked my 11 year old daughter to assist me in showing how I made the bracelet in the previous post. Please let me know if you have any questions!! I think she did a great job!! Just a quick post today to share something funny~ As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I am able to be part of an exclusive sight from Stampin' Up! called Stampin' Connection and it's great...it connects demos from all over the world. Full of information from Business Tips, Techniques, Ideas/Inspiration and SO much more!! Today I came across a photo that someone had posted and it made me laugh~ She mentioned that she was recently at a stampin' event and they didn't have a knife...but she did have our Tearing Edge!!

Now be honest...great idea huh?? Have you ever used one of these?? I own one and haven't used it in awhile...might have to wipe the dust off and put it to use...cards or bread!!

Now here is a quick and cute project. I used the Marina Mist 1 1/4"striped grosgrain (119772) and Spring Vintage fabric (121817) along with the Circles # 2 die (114526 ). Added an Antique brad (117273), velcro and voila!

Luck O' the Irish Flowers

Today I went grocery shopping and bought the goodies for March 17th!! My kids actually love corned beef and cabbage...I love it so much that I'm not quite sure why I don't make it more often...but at least I do once a year!!

Last night during dinner I noticed that the kids were ready for St. Pat's~ they were drinking green milk!! Good ol' food coloring...one year we even died our little dog!!

Here are some pins and hair clips that were made using some St. Patty's fabric and the Flower Folds die (115970). My friend Jean (and downline) recently attended a craft fair and I made some for her to sell. Here is a picture of the back:

Feelin' Lucky??

You know...I thought I was done with hearts....until I realized they are perfect for making shamrocks!! This is one of the cards that we will be making at tonight's Stamp Camp. It uses the full heart extra large punch (119883). I then embossed them using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder (117335). The stem was created with the branch from the two-step bird extra-large punch (117191). There are not a ton of St. Patrick's stamps in the catalog..but this is a must AND it's only $6.95~ Lucky Shamrock (121939) (found on the last page of the Occassions Mini). here I embossed it in gold and punched it out with the 1/34" circle punch (119850). The background DSP is from Woodland Walk (117389)~ went perfectly with the Garden Green and Wild Wasabi CS. Added some brushed gold CS, clear square button w/ linen thread and Whisper White 3/8 taffeta ribbon (109070). Here is a close-up:

Now..this is actually a favorite of mine~ years ago I remember seeing a card very similar. The DSP was made to look like wallpaper and there were his & her towels....cute huh?? The Mr. & Mrs. stamp is from All Holidays (114916) and the 'B' (you could use any initial for the newlyweds!) is from Lovely Letters Alphabet (115030). I tried to get a close-up picture to see the 'wainscotting' which was created by scoring the CS!!

I used the same DSP collection (Woodland Walk).

A friend of mine thought this would be so cute for a bridal shower...with the towels?? Then we started thinking..."Oh, you could even use the new sound cards that you decorate and the sound could be running water from the shower!!"

For now...this is enough~ had to keep it simple enough for Stamp Camp tonight :)

Long Overdue...

I'm alive...not to worry!! It seems that for over a month now I have caught everything out there...I am SO sick of being sick!!

I have some goodies to share with you~ last Friday I was supposed to have a Stamp Camp but had to reschedule since I wasn't feeling well. So tomorrow is the day~if you live close by be sure to check my calendar for upcoming events. I have mentioned that whoever is wearing some green will get a special treat from me. This is a shamrock cookie cutter that will be given to guests that are sportin' the green. Here is a close-up:

Stamp Set: Lucky Shamrock (121939)

Card Stock: Whisper White, Garden Green, Basic Black

Accessories: Linen Thread, Paper Piercer Tool, black gingham ribbon, 2 3/8" Extra-Large Scallop punch, 1 3/8" circle punch

Here is a 3-D item that we will be making using the ever so delicious Hershey Nuggets...I wonder how much of a $ increase Hershey and other chocolate treat companies have made since being used by all us 'paper-crafters' ?? Here yummy....but boring~ right??

Now...here she is all made up into a cute little purse!! Almost too pretty to open up and eat!! I used the Ice Cream Parlor Paper pack that I earned FREE from the SAB promotion....remember there are only about 4 weeks left to earn fabulous FREE goodies!! (Sale-a-Bration Promotion ends March 31st). Here is a close-up picture, I followed a tutorial found here for the nuggets. The flower was punched out using the Boho Blossoms Extra large punch (119858) and secured with a brad from the Brights collection (119740). If you have any questions please ask or leave a comment!!

This card was so easy to do...and SO cool~ I was wondering how to get the embossed image using our fabric...thought about using starch or wetting it etc. But then voila~ I came across some blogs that featured this technique!! Not sure what it's called...or if it even has a name..if you know what it's called please enlighten me and leave a comment!! I am SO thankful for the all the amazing talent out there!!

Directions: Cut your fabric of choice (here I used our Springtime Vintage-121817 and the new Fun Flowers die 121812). Apply the fabric to CS of choice using our gluestick (104045). Emboss as you would plain CS with embossing folder of choice.

That's it...pretty simple! Here is the inside of the blue one.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Happy Valentine's Day!! I didn't post my video~ don't hate me!! I noted in my previous post that I would be uploading another video tutorial...and I didn't. I have been substitute teaching on occasion and last Friday was asked to sub and I accepted...so no video :( . Don't be sad...it's coming and I actually have more ideas to film too!! Drop me a line, or comment...let me know what you would like to see~ a certain idea or technique...more cards?? scrapbook pages?? I have a birthday coming (shhhhh!). I don't really count birthdays anymore~ that means I don't get any older right?? I would LOVE for Santa (oh wait~wrong holiday)to bring me a new video camera to make filming/editing easier. We'll see!! So I hope you all have had a wonderful Valentine's~ I wanted to share with you some cute treats that my friend Mona and I made~

These hold delicious Ghiradelli chocolates. She made a bunch for her co-workers...pink for the girls and gray for the boys!!

These were so quick and easy to put together using the super cute Table Setting die (116819). I was inspired from the fabulous Kimberly Van Diepen who posted a video on how she made hers...so be sure to check it out...trust me~ that girl could make 'pooh' look pretty!!

Now...on to my lovely Valentine's for the kids~ I posted a picture from a past Stamp Camp where I had one of these little cuties...they are envelopes and it is seriously one of my latest favorite treat holders to make!! These I had filled with gummies...can you believe I found matching ones?? LOVE IT!!!

Here is photo of the inside...shredded Real Red card stock for filler and ta-da~~ my oldest (Tyler: age 15) was so cute...he said "Mom, these are too cute to eat!"

Now...lastnight after we finished up dinner we had some excitement...my husband called me to help him save a baby mouse on our screened in deck. We have cats (bad kitties!) and sometimes they have caught/killed the wildlife...but this was a baby!

So I rushed out to help...along with the kids and we saved the little guy (or girl). I love their ears the most...SO CUTE! I know that there are a lot of you out there that are probably grossed out and thinking...they are just as nasty as cockroaches or something. But seriously... take a look for yourself!!

Now...how in the world did I get two you ask?? About an hour later when my daughter was headed to bed she yelled "Mom..there is another one!" So...we all headed outside and 20 minutes later we caught it...so meet Cupid and Valentine!! Not sure what we we'll do with them...the kids love them want to keep them as pets...I am already crazy with the two cats PLUS two dogs we have!!

That's what it's all about I suppose...catching fireflies or frogs and turtles in the summer? We now have mice until 'spring' has 'sprung' I suppose. Any advice?? Would love some!!

Oh...in case you were wondering..silly me~ this is how you create the 'squash' book!!

Directions: Begin with a (2) 8 1/2" square piecea of CS and fold in half vertically and horizontally. Flip over and score diagonally in both directions. Overlap one on top of each other as shown and decorate as desired!! Contact me if you have any questions!

These M&M treats turned out SO cute!! I used the heart shaped treat cups (120435). Can you believe that for just $2.95 you get twelve of these little cuties?? Love 'em...and had some stashed in my storage closet ...but never played with them!! Pulled off the adhesive and stuck to the DSP~ SO EASY!! These were pretty quick to make too since the circles were punched with the 2 1/2" circle punch (120906) and the larger scallops were done using the Big Shot (who always lives up to his name ) and Scallop Circle #2 die (113469).

Now...here is another great Valentine's idea that is a 'non' cavity promoting gift.

It uses the same fun paper (Love Impressions 121780) found on pg. 7 in the Occasions Mini. This is basically the same concept that I used for the candy bar wrappers but it's flat...can you guess what is inside?? It's an i-tunes gift card!! Added some bling ~ red glimmer paper heart punch (pg.7) and a trinket crown (pg. 24). I LOVE these little guys a set of 3 different custom-designed crowns (121891) for only $6.95 that include both jump rings and lobster claps.

Matchbox Die "Fantasy Tower"

Hey there~ I am SO excited to share with you this modified 'Fantasy Box'. I was first inspired by this Matchbox Die tower and had added it to my fav's to CASE later....and while watching the Superbowl yesterday I started stampin' the night away...this was SO much fun to make~ I had to revise the measurements to make mine work...see bottom of post for instructions. I know now what my hostesses this month will be receiving!! Here are some close-up pictures:

The colors SCREAM spring and make me all warm and fuzzy!! I love this stamp set...it's from the Occasions Mini Catalog (pg.31). The samples shown in the catalog are very cute but...there was NO way I was about to cut out that butterfly!!

Supplies needed:

Directions: 1. cut out a total of 4 Matchbox die boxes (you will not need the outside sleeves) 2. Tower: cut CS to 4" x 11" and score at 2 15/16", 5 5/16", 8 1/4" and 10 5/8". Lid: 4 3/8"x 3 3/4" score at 11/16" on all 4 sides. Adhere boxes as shown spaced at each inch. Decorate as desired.

The drawers inside the tower are filled with embellishments: buttons, brads and ribbon~FUN!

Extreme Snowboard!!

February has always been a busy month for me. Especially since it's a short one~but that's okay because I am SO ready for spring! The quicker the month goes by the better!! No I didn't make a card for Groundhogs's Day...and thinking it's not looking like I'll make any to celebrate President's Day either... BUT I will be busy making TONS of birthday cards. Several family members (including my own) are during this month and a bunch of friends too. Hmm...9 months ago must have been a busy month too!!

Here today the one I have to share is for my son's friend's birthday party. I received an order today of lots of goodies and because of Sale-A-Bration's wonderful promotion I received this set FREE!!

It's called Extreme Snowboard and it's great for boys and teens...I didn't have any other stamp sets that were screaming 'cool' boy stamp set...and with the recent weather we (and about 1/2 of the country) have been having it was perfect!!

Click here for a great tutorial by Michelle Zindorf. I loved her card...and mine isn't even close...I actually am not friends with the brayer..I like to use sponges better. It was so much fun I even decided to stamp the envelope!

It's a pillow..it's a card~it's a pillow card!

I know what you are thinking...what a tacky title on my post! Over Christmas I kept seeing those 'pillow pets' all over the place and would sing the catchy little tune when the commercials came on...but they never made my kids Chrismtas 'wish-list'! Anyway...this card feels like a little 'heart' pillow. Click here for a great tutorial to give you an idea on how to achieve this look. Here is a picture of the inside (pardon my hand). The Melon Mambo piece of card stock has covered the punched out heart shape, fabric, batting and cover~ta-da!! This card could be used for Valentine's Day or any other occasion for a friend. I think besides the fabric...which I 'sew' LOVE my favorite element on the card are the delicious BUTTONS!! Just wait until you see what I'm making with the buttons next~it's going to freak your freak out!!

Take a Spin!!

I am sure that all of you know by now that http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ is a great site for inspriation and excellent tutorials (besides of course my blog ) so my next card was inspired by a topper card shown here. I LOVE the new game spinners in the Occasions mini~ they are a MUST have!! They coordinate with a new stamp set (shown here) called Take a Spin (121937 W, 122015 C). The topper part of my card was made by using the Top Note die (113463) after it is cut out once, turn it centered and run it through your Big Shot again~ I know genious!! Nope...not my idea but happy to share the technique...you can make a cute star like medallion by continuously turning it and cutting it out. I know that Kimberly Van Diepen made a video showing it awhile back. My Basic Gray CS card base is a 4 1/4" square and I layered both Pumpkin Pie CS and Peach Parfait over it. Hard to tell from the photo but the Peach Parfait piece was embossed using the Square Lattice embossing folder (119976). Added some Pumpkin Pie 1/8" taffeta ribbon (119253) and lastly punched out a few Whisper White candles using the new Build a Cupcake Punch (121807) another MUST have item! I also punched one out on the inside of the card:

Great thing is it still fits inside a standard size envelope!!

Occasions Mini goodies (Stamp Camp treats)

So...where to begin?? This past week was crazy~ the kids only attended school on Tuesday since Monday was a teacher work day and then the remaining days during the week were cancelled due to the inclement weather. Being from Rhode Island...where it snowed WAY more then here in Virginia...often makes me laugh when they cancel school~ seriously for an 1" of snow?? Or sometimes they have called it on a forecast and it didn't snow a bit!! The kids enjoyed it, for we did finally get some accumulating snow...about 9" here in Winchester. I hear they are calling for more next Tues./Wed. so that means I'll be here in the basement keeping warm with my space heater at my little piggies stampin' the days away!!

Currently there are two different 1000 piece puzzles on my dining room table...one is completed and waiting to be glued together while the other is sitting there waiting to be finished. So the pictures I have taken are from the basement and I laughed as I uploaded them to the computer...my sheep's tag 'Baa' is in a few of them.

Anyway...here are the projects that we made at my last Stamp Camp. This one was SUPER easy made out of an envelope. Yup~ an envelope!! You seal it first...and cut the top using the scallop edge punch. Inside I filled it with some shredded scrunched up Very Vanilla CS and an almonf Hershy bar. The outside was stamped using the Eat Chocolate stamp set (122006 C, 121931 W). I added a Chocolate Chip belly band and 1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon (cut in half). Added a clip from the Clips Assortment pack (112580) and added a punched heart (117193) with the red glimmer paper (121790). Lastly I added some Log Cabin smooch spritz (119921). This project was inspired from pg. 22 of the January's Stampin' Success (a demontrator only publication). If you have any questions, just ask!!

I made covered Mr. Goodbar chocolate treats for every participant that brought their catalog. The paper used here is called Sweet Stitches (121781) and coordinates with these cute little fabric covered brads (121880). Stamped the image using the same Eat Chocolate stamp set (love this set!!) The dimensions for the DSP were 5 1/2" x 7 1/2". Belly band dimensions: 2 1/2" x 5 1/2". Decorate as desired. Here is a close-up picture:

Have you ever heard of the Rules of Chocolate??

1. If you have gotten chocolate all over your hands, you are eating it too slowly.

2. Chocolate covered raisins, cherries, orange slices and strawberries all count as fruit so eat as many as you want.

3. The problem: How to get 2 lbs. of chocolate home from the store in a hot car? Solution: Eat it in the parking lot.

4. Diet tip: Eat a chocolate bar before each meal. It'll take the edge off your appetite and you'll eat less.

5. A nice box of chocolates can provide your total daily intake of calories in pne place. Isn't that handy?

6. If you can't eat all your chocolate, it will keep in the freezer. But if you can't eat all your chocolate...what's wrong with you?

7. If calories are an issue, store your chocolate on top of the fridge. Calories are afraid of heights, and they will jump out of the chocolate to protect themselves.

8. If I eat equal amounts of dark chocolate and white chocolate, is that a balanced diet? Don't they counteract each other?

9. Money talks. Chocolate sings.

10. Chocolate has many preservatives.Preservatives make you look younger.

11. Q. Why is there no such organization as Chocoholics Anonymous? A. Because nobody wants to quit.

12. If not for chocolate, there would be no need for control top pantyhose. An entire garmet industry would be devastated.

13. Put "Eat Chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today. At least you'll get one thing done!!

Here is another card using another stamp set called Thanks for Caring (121961 C), (121901 W). I find that it's hard to make 'Sympathy' cards...for obvious reasons...it's never for a good cause :(

So you have to make them pretty~ and let them know you truly care!! This is a 'joy' fold card and it uses lots of goodies from the Occasions Mini catalog. The base of the card was embossed using the Framed Tulips embossing folder (121809). The flower was punched out with Springtime Vintage DSP (121782). Added a button and linen thread and here is a peak at the inside:

Love is in the air!!

I was inspired to make this wreath after talking to my girlfriend Jean (howdy Jean!!). She mentioned that she was going to try to make one of these paper wreaths using some Valentine's Day DSP and I have not ordered mine yet (I know...shame on me!!) So I grabbed some of my new FAVORITE DSP called First Edition (121878) tied a black satin ribbon at the top and added some 'L-O-V-E' ~ now I need to grab the rest of my Valentine's Decor.... and decorate!! So..stay tuned and see what else I come up with...can't use last years paper (I might start twitching!!) So...off to order some new goodies!! Okay, now be honest have you ever ordered something twice or more?? I mentioned that I am about to place an order?? Well...I was going throught my inventory of card stock and deciding what next to order from my never ending 'Wish List' and I realized that I had the stamp set Eat Chocolate on there twice!! I was SO close to ordering it again!! I was so happy the other day when I came across it...looking for the perfect stamp set to use for my candy bar treat!! I think I might have little 'Stamper Elves' in my basment...and hey that's okay...me like!! So there it was, sitting on my shelf waiting for me to play...it's the little things in life that make me all warm and fuzzy! Note: (sorry about blurry picture but since I didn't want to take away from the stamped image...I chose to de-boss the image) Candy Bar Treat Directions: CS base measures 5 1/2" x 5 1/2". Score at 1", 1 1/4", 3 1/2" and 3 3/4". Apply sticky strip to hold closed and decorate as desired....pretty quick and simple!! My Second Video Tutorial!!

Yes...finally I made another video tutorial!! I can't believe that it took me as long as it did...but it's here!! Thanks so much for your patience!! In a previous post I shared with you some fabric rosette rings that I made (click here for the post). I had promised to make a video showing how, so today I pulled out our newest fabric from the Occasions Mini Catalog and went to work.

Above you will see the three designs you get from ordering our Springtime Vintage fabric (121817)...they are so much prettier in person. In addition there are some really cute ideas from Stampin' Up! that use this fabric. Click here for a PDF that you can download and use. Happy New Year folks!! I have been telling myself to post, post, post something...anything on this blog and never found that I had the time!! I then decided to wait until the new year, so here we are~ a few days later.... ta da!! I had decided to wait until today's date (January 4th) since it's also when the Occasions Mini Catalog is available to order from!! Have you seen it?? You can download the online version by clicking the catalog at the right (or the link created in the text). If you would like me to send you a copy in the mail just send me an e-mail with your address!! All I can say is WOW!! It's hard to pick a favorite item, there are 'sew' many to choose from! Here is a project I made using the some of our newest fabric called Sweet Stitches (121818). I cut the fabric using the Big Shot and Scallop Square die (115950) and adhered it to the plate using 3-M spray adhesive. I took another picture to show the plate..the edges are raised and will make a great 'catch all' in my craft area...especially for our new Designer Buttons!! Ornaments

Oops~ so in my previous post I had mentioned that I was going to be back to share some more goodies from my trip and a recipe...well...I honestly apologize!! I think since I was gone for so long...I was going through 'rubber withdrawal' (YES~ that's a real symptom in stamp land!). My fingers have been all inky and I even cut myself on my paper cutter!! Not sure how I managed that one...but when your index finger has a boo boo with the hand you do EVERYTHING with it makes for a tough time stamping!!

This ornament I actually made right before I left and will be one of the goodies that my Holiday Open House attendees will be able to make. Here is a side photo:

Non SU!- Ornament & Snow (craft/hobby store)

Stamp set: Welcome Christmas (118736 W) (120597 C)

Ink: Always Artichoke Classic pad

Now here is another ornament that I made while I was with my mom in AZ. It measures 7 1/2" in diameter and uses our Deck the Halls fabric (121716). Very cute to hand on a door or along with a wreath. I have a few pictures to show you on how it was created...and I was oh so excited that even the back looked good! I can never even sew in a straight line...but good ol' mom showed me a few cool tricks.

I made a total of 4 of them and for the back I used muslin. A few I stuffed with batting. Now...the top is really cool! It's tin foil~ I know right?? I found this great tutorial from the Missouri Quilt Company. Click here to view. The video will demonstrate how the foil was created for the topper. If you have any questions, just ask!! ~Erin

Now as promised: I mentioned I would share with you a delicious recipe for Tamale Pie so here it is! Enjoy and let me know if you enjoy it! Great hot meal (not too spicy) for a cold winter day!

Tamale Pie

Serves 6

For a gluten-free version, substitute a gluten-free baking mix for the flour and baking powder.

Cooking spray

15-ounce can black beans, drained and rinsed

15-ounce can fire-roasted, diced tomatoes

15-ounce can of corn drained

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/4 cup diced onion

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Corn Bread Topping:

3/4 cup cornmeal

1 1/4 cup flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup milk

1/4 cup sugar

1 large egg

1. Spray the inside of a 4 qt. slow cooker with cooking spray. Pour in the filling ingredients- the beans, tomatoes, corn, spices, onion and cheese~ and stir well taking care to evenly distribute the spices.

2. In a seperate bowl, mix the corn bread topping. Pour the batter over the filling, spreading it with a spatula. Cover and cook on low 4-7 hours, or on high doe 2-4 hours.

Per serving: 380 calories, 6g total fat, 3 g saturated fat, 50 mg cholesterol, 630 mg sodium, 68 g carbohydrates, 8 g fiber, 15g sugars, 15g protein.

The BIG day is almost here...

I can't believe how quickly the holiday season is approaching. I spent two weeks recently in AZ visiting my mom...and WOW I miss the weather!! The above photo was the ugliest day...and isn't it ironic that there was a rainbow? We were sitting at her kitchen window and a few clouds quickly rolled in..and it spit about 6 drops of rain! Almost everyday I was able to go out and enjoy the sunshine and warmth. You would think it's difficult to get ready for the holidays when it's so sunny and warm (mid 70's) but you could fell the magic of 'CHRIST'mas in the air. She has a lovely church and I attended mass with her twice and enjoyed a fabulous luncheon. Tomorrow I will share a delicious recipe called Tamale Pie~ YUM! Everyone brought a dish to share and there were several receipes I jotted down (so stay tuned for others!). It was great meeting all of her friends and I now know how she has been able to live there while her husband has been working from southern CA for the past 3 1/2 years. During my visit she received wonderful news that he would be coming back mid January to stay! He works for Raytheon and had been transferred and now is able to come home...so yay for mom!! I helped mom decorate for Christmas and I brought with me our Deck the Halls fabric (121716)...she is 'sew' crafty and I knew she would help me get creative and make something festive.

Here is what I made...(with Mom's help!!)

I know....just BEAUTIFUL!! Just wait...we will have more fabric that coordinates with stamps and accessories in the next Occasions Mini catalog!! I just might have to head back to AZ for some more 'sew' cute crafts!!

She has the lates and greatest Bernina machine that is OUT of this world... 'Dear Santa' (wink wink)~LOL!

Cute huh?? I think the coolest part was watching the magic happen right before my eyes. These pictures show it best...I was unfamiliar with this technique or material called 'free standing lace' or FSL. The material that looks like plastic allows the machine to stitch the programmed design and 'create' the lace image, when you are done all you do is rinse the completed ornament under water and it dissolves...it was SO cool!! Here is right before it was rinsed...this is where I was just blown away and ready to pour a glass of wine and celebrate my/mom's clever creation!! I ended up making three: one for each of the kids back home!!

Now...before you nod off to sleep...there is one more thing I would like to share with you in this evening's post. Remind you of something??

It's basically the wreath from the cover of the Holiday Mini-Catalog!! So...in an earlier post I had mentioned that fabric was SO not my friend...seriously I am not joking!! So I really can't believe that I made this!! I had tons of help from my friend and downline Anne (thanks Anne!!). She made one using the Candy Cane Christmas fabric (121715). This one uses our Deck the Halls fabric (121716) it just matched my home decor so much more...and it is now hung in my newly painted bathroom in our basement~ LOVE IT!! It will be there to stay forever and ever!! Here is a close up of the flower embellishments:

Instructions on how to make this wreath and a bunch more cute projects come with the fabric so make sure you hang on to your instruction sheet. Now...I can normally follow instructions but I have to admit that in making the yo-yo flowers I had some difficulty...but it was probably just that I wanted it to be PERFECT and I am new at sewing...so I ended up going to YouTube and searched several 'how-to' videos and wound up ordering a a product called the Yo-Yo Maker made by Clover~ Sew easy !! I know I will be ordering some more sizes and shapes in the future because Stampin' Up! will have more fabric coming in the next catalogs....Shhhhh!!! Isn't that excited??? Just wait until you see the next Occasions Mini Catalog...its going to 'freak your freak out'!

Speaking of fabric...here is a cute little card I made using a scrap piece I had laying around...and I didn't even need to sew it!! All I did was placed a strip of sticky strip and stuck the fabric on scrunching it up as I went along. Now the card I took a picture of at an angle to show how it was scored: start with a standard card 4 1/4" x 11". Fold in half as you normally would, then score a 1/4" up from that center fold and down a 1/4" from the center. Mountain/Valley fold to create a gap in your card to hold a little treat:

The greeting inside is one of our personalized stamps: I love these because if there is a saying you love or a special nickname for a loved one...you can have Stampin' Up! design what you want!! The candy I just attached with two glue dots.

Ouch!!

For those of you who know already I am heading to Tuscon, AZ on Black Friday. My mother had surgery yesterday...here is the procedure she had done: an anterior cervical laminectomy with fusion. OUCH!! (I am not even sure I can pronounce it!!) She will be feeling much better by then (we all hope) but will still be needing some help with getting around (she can't even drive for 5-6 weeks!!). I will always remember my first visit out there..I am an east coast girl and perhaps always will be but WOW!! What a totally different environment and I honestly LOVED it!! My memory card on the camera was full of photos and some of the things I loved to photograph?? The quails!! Honestly the only thing I like about this time of year are the Holidays!! If you know me...you know I hate the cold, being cold, losing my tan (okay...that was a joke!) I never have a tan!!

But I love the Holidays!! Things seem to slow down a bit and you are able to spend time with family and friends. How amny of you only send those cards out...to long lost relatives but once a year?? Shame on you!! Just kidding...I'm guilty too!! This time of year is for giving thanks and counting your blessings and truly appreciating what you have.

Sure the decorations are fun...the fall colors are BEAUTIFUL and the food?? YUMMY!!! So whats not to love?? I can handle a few cooler/COLD days and spend them in the basement stamping!! This upcoming Friday I am hosting a Stamp Camp...hopefully in the basement~ it's currently under construction...we decided to re-paint the walls. It's a bit stinky down here so as long as it's completed and not overwhelming with toxic fumes we'll be down here, otherwise we will stamp upstairs in the kitchen or dining room..not to worry folks...I have it under control~wink wink!

Here is the first card we will be making: Lot's of goodies were used on this card. Stamp sets- Growing Green, En Francais and Elegant Thank-you (the inside). CS- very vanilla, sahara sand, garden green and Woodland Walk DSP. Ink- garden green craft spot, sahara sand. Access- vanilla taffeta ribbon, clear embossing powder, antique brads.

The second card: Loved this one~ thanks to www.splitcoaststampers.com I was totally inspired to make this beauty~ I LOVE this stamp set and if you look closely at the background it was made using just the inked clear block!! I know....genious right?? I just can't take the credit for it...it's a total CASE!!

Now I was hoping to show how to make a cute wooden 'tree' coaster as seen in this month's issue of Country Living Magazine and have ordered my BEAUTIFUL birch logs...it's just they are coming from Canada and not sure how long they will take to arrive. So if they are not here by Friday...that will be available at another Stamp Camp. I think it will make a great gift!! But not to worry, in it's place you will make another cute little 3-D treat!!

I did it!!

So yesterday I attended my downline's Holiday Open House...she did a great job and had different stations set up for cards, walnut pumpkins, fabric...and more!! Anne...you are the best and did a FABULOUS job!

So..as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator we get a nifty little magazine called Stampin' Success and it's filled with tons of ideas and techniques (new ones EVERY month!!). For the month of November I knew immediately that I wanted to re-create a shirt that they had made using the Big Shot and the Flower Folds die (115970) (my absolute favorite!!) The key is to have a material that is 95% cotton/ 5% spandex so when it's cut the fabric starts to curl. You sew on your flowers and ta-da!!

She also loved the embellished shirt and made one like the day after seeing it in Stampin' Success..then when she showed me?? I BEGGED her to show me how...paper is my friend (not so much fabric...but I'm learning!!) I have two other ones I am working on and will post those when finished. Here is a close up of the frillies!!

Cute huh?? Now one thing I CAN do with our new fabric (since it doesn't require any sewing) is make cute little rings~ I made a ring for her as a 'thank-you' and also one for her newest recruit Jean!! I hope to get a video together on how easy these are...great for the holidays. The cute little box was made using the Big Shot and the Matchbox die (114890). Jazzed it up a bit with the coordinating Deck the Halls DSP (120810), Victoria crochet trim (118481), Vintage Trinkets (118764) and added a 'hand-made' tag with the Tiny Tags stamp set (118592 C) (118091 W) and jewelry tag punch (117190).

Knock~Knock!!

Here is the another Christmas card (this was the third card from my Holiday Extravaganza Stamp-a-Stack). I was planning on posting this MUCH sooner...but had major computer failure!! When you call the professionals and they can't help and need to refund your $$..that's when you know that it't time for another computer!

Here is a close-up of the opened door, stamped with 'Holiday Greetings' from the Sincere Salutations (115068) stamp set. The ink and card stock are in Cherry Cobbler..which is so yummy!! This is a beautiful red~ perfect for the holidays!! The little ribbon was made with Real Red Taffeta, I tried using the re-inkers on the white taffeta ribbon but this was a close enough match and since we were making 4 of these cards..inky fingers and Whisper White card stock?? No bueno!! Hard to tell from the photo but I used the new embossing folder in the Holiday Mini catalog called Northern Flurry (120902). In my opinion, this folder is a MUST have~ order yours today!!

So now that things are running smoothly and no more computer issues you can be sure to expect some more cards and crafts to be shared in the near future!! This one was a favorite of mine...plan on making TONS for this Holiday Season. This was cased by Nance Lempinen-Leedy. Click here to see her blog and how the wreath was made, looks intimidating but it's SO easy and if I can do it, you can too!! Now...what was cute were the ladies here that night who loved the card but didn't realize that it was a door!! I know silly huh?? The wreath and door knob didn't give it away?? Beth..if you are reading this...sorry!! (wink wink).

Now speaking of door knobs...recently our neighbors and dearest friends celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. I found this cute little wine bottle stopper that was made from a wrought iron door knob!! I swear there are TONS of such creative people out there! So along with their gift I made this card: Another super yummy red color?? Poppy Parade...how do they do it?? (Stampin' Up! packs SO much umph of color into their card stock and accessories...) I think my husband would kill me if I mentioned that I wanted to paint another room a Stampin' Up! color!! So this card was pretty much cased by Erica Cerwin...check out her blog if you ever need some inspiration..she just oozes talent and creativity! She mentioned on her blog that this card was originally inspired by Mary Fish (Stampin' Pretty). So how could I not love it?? I tweeked it just a bit and like the way it turned out...such a unique way to use the Curly Label Extra-Large punch (119851). Holiday Extravaganza Sneak Peak

This little cutie is one of the cards that we will be making at my next Stamp Camp~ It's a Holiday Extravaganza! We will be making a total of 12 cards w/envelopes. There will be a total of 3 different designs and make 4 of each of them. The first one uses one of my favorite stamp sets called Holiday Lineup (111648). I love the expressions on the reindeer~ doesn't it look like Rudolph accidentally passed gas or something?? Love it!! The eyes were filled in using the white gel pen (105021) which made it quick and easy...you could stamp these silly guys and color them in, but this is so simple to make especially if you need a bunch in a short amount of time. Added some glitter to his nose, ribbon and used the jumbo wheel Santa's Lineup (113120) for a quick background.

This next one doesn't use 'traditional' Christmas colors~ but I loved the vintage feel of it. This stamp set is called Good Cheer (115326). I stamped the image on vellum CS using Rich Razzleberry and layered it onto a piece of Early Espresso. The Very Vanilla piece was embossed using the Finial Press embossing folder (115963) and then I just grunged it up a wee bit by dragging the ink pad over it. Here is the inside of the card:

Rag Quilt Bag & Wine Tote

Well...hellooooooo!!! I can seriously not believe that I made this....BY MYSELF!!! Last year my husband bought me a sewing machine (I had wanted one for years) and he completely surprised me. I think my daughter had alot to do with my surprise since she has probably made more crafts than I have with a sewing machine!! Thank goodness to You Tube!

Over the next few weeks I will share with you some more fabric hand-made gifts that I have created and they are SO simple with the help of the Big Shot. I can't wait to use our new fabric.. from the Holiday Mini Catalog, my favorite is Deck the Halls (121716). I plan on making a fabric heart basket...perhaps I'll have to break out the video camera too!! I just hope that I remember how to edit and post...I have only made one video tutorial and that was over a year ago!!

Anyway... here are close-up pictures:

I watched Chic-n-Scratch's (thanks Angie!) video on how to make a rag quilt bag. You have to check it out...she is practically holding your hand every step of the way...and since I am just a beginner..that is JUST what I need!! For these I just revised how many squares (Scallop Square Die 115950)to use to make these two sizes. I made both in about 3-4 hours, including the matching pin. The pin was made using my favorite die called Flower Folds (115970). There are so many different tutorials out there for these flowers but the one I like best is Dawn Griffith's . Here you can see the back, where I added a pin..but these are great because they can be added to hair-clips, clothes...and so much more.

Tomorrow I will show you another wine tote that I made using some other fabric. I think I need to order some more of our fabric and make some wine totes to give as gifts this holiday season with a set of matching cards...since our exclusive fabric has matching designer series paper!!!

Now here are some more projects using the Decor Elements that I mentioned in my previous post. The first is another wine bottle with purple lights...actually they look just like the color Rich Razzleberry when lit: This one uses the crow image from the set Spooky Things (120909 black).

Hard to see from the photo so here is another close-up:

The top of the bottle has a strip of Wicked Fun Specialty DSP (117400) then a tied bow of 1/2" lace trim (120988) called 'Raven' so I thought it was appropriate! The tag uses the new Extra-Large Decorative Label punch (120907), Medium Oval punch (120908), Brights buttons (119747), linen thread (104199), Basics Glimmer Brads (121003) and if you look closely you can see that I sprayed the black card stock with Platinum Shimmer Paint (116807) mixed with rubbing alcohol.

This shadow box frame measures 12x12 and I placed a sheet of the same DSP...I love these flocked bats!! I battery powered tea light fits perfectly and all I did to spook things up a but was add shredded Basic Black CS. Added the decor elements to the front and that's it!! I will add a picture in the top right hand corner of the kids all dressed up in costume before they head out to go 'trick-or-treating'. I took another picture without the flash...so you can see the way the flame looks...so cool in person!!

More 'Spooky' Goodies to share...

Hello again....here are some more Halloween goodies I had displayed at my last Stamp Camp. Halloween is my favorite holiday, I love to decorate and over the years I have quite the collection of goblins and ghouls...my favorite pieces are these witch legs that stick out under a table...as if the witch has been smushed and this past year I bought an adorable little grungy witch head...that nobody else in the family likes..I'll have to post a picture of that too. But an inexpensive way to decorate your home is with Stampin' Up!

Anyway, on to the luminaries. These were so easy to make: Using the Big Shot and the Fancy Favor die (115965) with Pumpkin Pie CS, before I assembled the box I used our new 2 1/2" circle punch (120906) and stamped the image from the House of Haunts stamp set with black Staz-On ink onto vellum. Place a flameless candle and that's it!! Here is a close up picture:

I think the hardest part about decorating is deciding when to do it!! This year I waited until Sept. 15 (which I know is early) but look at the retail stores...you have Halloween on one side of the aisle and the other is Christmas...in AUGUST!!

Now for the next project I used our Decor Elements...OMG..don't you just love them?? Let me know if you have any questions at all about them, so easy to apply on almost any smooth surface. Here I used them on glass:

I found this jar at Target and knew immediatly what I was going to use it for...hard to tell from the photo but there are spiders all around it from the Decor Elements Spooky Things (120909 black). I tied some black raffia around the top and added

a tag:

The tag has our new glass glitter (aslo in the Holiday Mini) pg. 21...and I just read that it will tarnish...can't wait to see what it looks like all aged!!

Here is another project using the Decor Elements Spooky Expressions (117568) these little faces I could stick all over the house...how funny would one look on the toilet seat lid?? I used a large clear wine bottle (which I enjoyed emptying...LOL) cleaned out and fillled with a strand of 20 count orange lights. Added some olive raffia and a tag. Tried to get a better picture to see the face..it is SO cute in person!!

September Halloween Projects!!

Wow~ you would have thought that I just dropped off the face of the earth right?? Where have I been you ask?? Stampin' you silly!! I have SO many projects to post and hope I can get them all on here...I didn't host a Stamp Camp or hold any other workshops during the entire month of Augustm, and let me just say...that was weird!! We spent some vacation time at the Lake and then with the school year beginning...back-to-school shopping, hair cuts and just getting prepared for the school year took up all my spare time. I now have three children in 3 different schools...YIKES!! I can say that having a calendar has helped BIG TIME keeping everything straight!

Well enough about that... you want to see some cards and crafts!!

Here is what we made recently at my last Stamp Camp for September:

This shadow box card was inspired by the ever so silly Corinne (aka Roxy). I love how you can use the new 2 1/2" Circle punch (120906) for super quick assembly. I also used the Extra-Large Decorative Label punch(120907) along with the Extra Large Oval punch (119859) and added some bling (basic rhinestones 119246). I love these boots...thinking that they would even be cute as a tattoo!! The stamp set is called Wicked Cool (118738 W) (120600 C). Embossed the front of the card with the Spider Web Embossing Folder (120889) and ta-da!! (Thanks Roxy for the inspiration!!)

Here is the other card we made...a COMLETE CASE from

Diana Gibb's 'Bird's Eye View Card...can you spot the changes?? I didn't have the safety pins from the Vintage Trinkets collection (118764) but I do now!!! I searched all over town trying to find something cute and tiny and finally found some black ones at a local fabric store...but ours are better...in three different finishes and the come with cute little buttons?? Not sure how they missed all my previous orders...shame on me!! The stamp set I used here is called Dark & Dreary and was a MUST!! My husband even approved of this one since his business is called 'Black Crow Builders' we are a wee bit of 'crow collectors'! I should show you his new logo..HE came up with...yup I said 'he' . Perhaps I will share that with you next week, along with some ideas using our stencils...stay tuned!

Now the last project we made was inspired from Diana Ball-Seitz, have you tried these yummy little treats?? DELICIOUS!! It was so easy and can be altered for any occasion. She has posted a great photo tutorial so be sure to check it out!!

Candle Time!!

I love making hand stamped candles...they make such great gifts and you can stamp them to go along with any occasion!! I am now on the hunt for some cream colored tissue paper (they must make it...right?). I have a few unused vanilla candles around the house and I think they would be perfect for this technique too!! To learn how to make these yourself click on the resources tab on Splitcoast for a step-by-step tutorial..and remember that all candles and their melting points are different. You will notice the tissue paper melt right before your eyes like magic...I even 'WOWED' the kids!! Imagine that...they stopped playing their video games to watch mommy burn her fingers!! Just teasing...but be careful when using your heat gun, I didn't burn myself but I could feel the heat. I ended up stamping one side, letting it cool for a few minutes and then completed the other side. We are going to be making these at my Stamp Camp this Friday~ hope everybody likes them!!

I was inspired by a card on a demonstrator only website using this stamp set called Watercolor Trio (117050 W, 120084 C)...changed it just a bit and made the 3 x 3 card. I then knew that I wanted the candle to match~voila!! I love this set...and see many more cards (and candles) with it in the future!!

Now some of you have asked about the raffle drawing I had posted on my Stampin' Up! website. Here were the details: for every $50 you spent during the first week of July (celebrating the launch of the new catalog) you would have your name entered into a drawing. I had noted that I would have pictures of what you were to win...and I never got to making it!! Silly me....just had my hands full these past few weeks. I know what you are thinking...this is just TOO stinkin' cute!! This baby carriage card made with the Big Shot and Scallop Circle die (113468) was inspired after seeing one on Yvonne's blog (be sure to check out her Big Shot projects!!) I knew that I wanted to make a baby card at my next stamp camp and after looking through my stash of stamp sets I didn't have any current 'baby themed' sets except for the Sock Monkey and his rattle...so after some blog hoppin' this is what I ended up with...and I love it!! ~Thanks Yvonne!! The colors are Early Espresso (textured CS)and one of the new In Colors Pear Pizazz (could be for either boy/girl) . Here is a close up of the inside of the card: the stamped sentiment is from Curvy Verses (114948).

The other card that we will be making is a wedding card. This was inspired/CASED from Splitcoas t . I used the Full Heart Extra large punch (119883) and layered with the bigger heart punch from Punch Windows (115953) and Big Shot. The bride's dress and matching envelope were embossed using the Finial Press embossing folder (115963). I will also be demo how to make stamped candles..expect pictures of that in tomorrow's post. Here Comes the Bride

Babies and weddings..or should I say weddings then babies?? This past week for me has flown by!! Last Monday my girlfriend delivered a beautiful baby girl and I was able to be in the delivery room with her. All I can say is "WOW" what a miracle! Such a different experience to not be the one pushing!! Here in Va the heat has been beyond extreme and this past Saturday was the worst yet~ I think temps reached 105 (felt even worse with the humidity!!) I didn't even want to go outside and swim in the pool!! Could you imagine getting married in this heat?? Yup~ crazy I know but a friend of mine asked me to help her make a card holder for her sister's wedding which was in this heat...she was married outside!! A 2:00 in the afternoon wedding.....yikes!! So here is a picture of what we came up with. There are 4 different sized hat boxes that were painted and covered with the ribbon. The bottom one has a slit that my husband cut to slide the wedding cards in...turned out pretty cute (if I do say so myself!!). Attached some flowers and oh...you wanted to know about the stamping...silly me!! From the top: the 'M' is from the Lovely Letters Alphabet (115030)punched out with 1 3/8" circle punch and layered with a Melon Mambo scallop circle. The little pink flower is from the new Level 1 hostess set Because I Care (118384 W, 120118 C). I printed the names of Bride & Groom and cut out using the Big Shot and Scallop Circle die (113468). Stamped image again using same stamp set in Certainly Celery. Layered that onto a piece of Chocolate Chip CS and vanilla taffeta ribbon. The bottom box uses Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware (112454) and the sentiment is from the new Hostess Level 3 stamp set called Occasional Quotes. That's it....pretty simple!! Plus it's a great keepsake.

Now here is what I mentioned in a previous post I would share with you my bedroom~ but I had to dust off my table, clean my room, etc....hee hee! A few months ago I re-painted my bedroom (for like the 6th time)the color of our Soft Suede...just took a piece of CS into Lowes and they matched it...I LOVE IT!! So does my husband and he's glad because he won't ever have to paint in there again!! Anyway...I have been wanting to try our Decor Elements and my style/decor is VERY country..for those that know me...my walls are covered with 'country crap' I don't think I could ever move....there is a place for everything that I own...and they don't want to be disturbed!! So I didn't know what would compliment my style and this worked...plus it was simple to do...looks like it was handpainted right on the wall!! Here is a close up (sorry about the glare from the flash). I would have a helper though...makes it much easier (I had my 10 year old daughter Regan help). Here are the cards I mentioned in a previous post that we made at my last workshop. It was a Hawaiian themed Stamp-n-Lunch and OMG my friend Marie (the hostess) went ALL out!!

She always amazes me with her creativity when it comes to food, party decor and favors..but get this...when everyone arrived we all received a REAL beautiful lei flown in overnight from Hawaii....yes Hawaii !! I couldn't believe it...it looked so delicate and pretty!! First of all...I have only travelled outside of the country once..to Costa Rica and Hawaii is one of those places I dream of going to and if I never make it there...that's okay...it was if I had gone!! The food we had was delicious...I am beginning to drool as I type...yummy!!

Since our theme was 'Hawaiian' she asked me to use an expired stamp set she had called Doin' the Hula. What a great stamp set..it's hard to find really good masculine cards. This shirt would be perfect for a Jimmy Buffet fan!! I took a picture of the inside to show how easy it is to make a slit using the word window punch for a gift card.

This next card was a favorite!! I had seen some cute cards on the web made to look like a grass skirt...and I loved the hula girl. This was what I came up with. Hard to tell from the photo but she was embossed using black embossing powder. The flower was made using the Big Shot and Sizzlit Birds & Blooms Flower Pieces (113485) attached with a clear rhinestone brad. Isn't it cute?? The background paper that was stamped looked so pretty IRL that somebody thought it was actually DSP!!

These next two cards use a stamp set from the current Summer Mini-Catalog called Tropical Party (W 118515, C 120081) . The first card I took two pictures of to show how it slides open. Very cute idea to use for a party invitation~ I used the new Square Lattice Embossing folder (119976) on the stamped coconut along with the Island Oasis DSP (117173) for a belly band. Cut out a stamped flower and added a rhinestone brad...was actually pretty quick and easy!!

The second one uses a new favorite color of mine called Daffodil Delight (this card also happens to be textured CS) Details: Using a rubber brayer and post-it-note I masked a moon image using a 1" circle punch and tore the bottom of the post-it-note. I used the new Marina Mist and brayered until I liked the color...the more ink the deeper the color. Then I sponged the 'sand' with Crumb Cake (formally known as Kraft). Stamped the palms with Early Espresso and Voila~! It's no Michelle Zindorf...but close huh??

J/K... when you open it, the inside piece of Early Espresso is meant to be a background for a photo of a loved one...cute huh?? Maybe a picture taken from some exotic tropical place...perhaps Hawaii?? Oh and almost forot to mention the front embellishment (silver hodgepodge hardware 111325) ~ the sentiment is from the stamp set called Elements of Style (W 118611, C 120045) also from the Summer Mini-Catalog. But it fits perfectly inside the hardware piece. End O' the Year~~

Oh...end of the year in SO many ways!! For the teachers this year I made these thank-you cards and treat bags for our Greenwood 'Gator' Elementary School....this stamp set called 'Wild About You' will have to stay in my collection even though it's retired as long as I have a child attending the school....it was perfect!! Do you recognize the DSP?? Retired too...but the colors were perfect too since the school's colors are green and blue. If you look closely at the silver hodgepode hardware...you will notice that it's not the size that you get with the tin. Here's how: Using paper snips...cut it! Then attach the ends behind the cardstock and Voila!~ Pretty cool huh? I know after seeing this sneaky little trick...I will be using a lot more hardware pieces for embellishments.

Now...since it was also the end of the Stampin' Up! year out with the old and in with the new~ Here is a graduation gift and notecard I made for my niece...using the new Greenhouse Gala DSP (my personal favorite!!) If it were available in fabric..I would be making pillows and quilts..every piece is beautiful and it coordinates with the new set called Friends Never Fade (part of Shelli's Signature Collection)...trust me she has GREAT taste!! On the card I used one of the new bitty buttons featured in the Summer Mini Catalog (118761) along with the coordinating punch from the punch pack (118309). These are SO cute and tiny!! For the gift bag I used one of the large cello bags and created a topper~quick and easy!!

Soccer Treats

Today marks the first day of summer and I don't know about you, but I am so relieved. I think it will be finally time to sit and work on some crafts and ideas that have been brewing in my brain. Just so hard to find the time to make them all!! Over the next few days I will be posting goodies that I made for end of year treats. Teacher gifts as well as grad's and Dad's goodies. But first I want to share with you what I made for the kids on my son's soccer team. Very quick and easy~ see how I did everyone's names?? I used the Big Shot and the Sizzlits Decorative strip die called Billboard (114510) in no time at all using a variety of cardstock colors I had all the names spelt out and adhered using 2-way glue. So something like this would be great for party favors. Here are the remaining details:

Cardstock: whisper white, real red, basic black

Ink: basic black

Access: Sizzix Big Shot, Top Note Die, Dimensionals, Curly Label Punch

Stamp Set: Just Soccer

Here is a close up picture: I used the good ol' computer and printer for the teams information and then punched out using the Curly Label Punch.

I also made the coach and I (because they came out so darn cute) flower pins using some soccer themed fabric. I used the Big Shot and the Flower Folds Die (115970). These would also be great sewn on to a pony tail elastic maybe next year!!

Hey there!! Happy Spring to you all!! I have a couple cards to share with you today.... these were made at a recent Stamp-a-Stack. Hope you like them!! The first card is hard to tell from the photo, but the bird image punched out with the square punches has a cracked glass finish. Click here to see how this technique is done...it looks so neat IRL!! This was a CASE from a card I spotted on SCS. We made 4 each of the 3 designs. The candle shown was the gift for the hostess. Please let me know if you have any questions!!

Hanging Heart Baskets

Here is the 3-D item we made at my last Stamp Camp. Each one holds a tart warmer that was placed inside in a small cello bag (which smell good enough to eat!!) These are so quick and easy to make using the Petal Card die (113467) and the Big Shot. You could use these to hold candy, notes etc. Click here for a great tutorial on Dawn's site. Here is a close up of my favorite...think it's because I love both brown and orange...and these crocheted flowers (115604) are the cutest!! Stay tuned and I'll post pictures of the cards that we made. Yup~ two posts in one day!!

Valentine's Home Decor

Look 'Ma'...no stamps!! This banner was so quick and easy to make~just my kind of decorating!! At first I wasn't going to order the new Sending Love DSP (117153) in the Occasions Mini Catalog...but after seeing SO many cute projects using it... I could not resist. In fact, I even expedited my order. (hee hee) I knew I wanted to create something to spruce up the house with some Valentine's Day decor and these projects left my craft area cleaner than the norm~this Sending Love DSP is already embellished with glitter on it!! So you go to bed without looking like you spent the afternoon in Neverland with Tinkerbell.

Details: 2 sheets of Sahara Sand CS at 12" x 3 1/4". Next score every 3". Take one of the pieces of Sahara Sand and cut off 1 1/2" on one side of the 3" squares. (this is how the two pieces will attach). Mountain and valley fold your Sahara Sand CS and attach your DSP of choice ( each piece measures 3" x 2 3/4"). I punched out the letters using Serif Essentials Alphabet (113464) and Chocolate Chip CS. Added a few embellishments and Voila~ So easy..a caveman can do it!!

Now this one...I know you love it don't ya?? Me too!! I was inspired to recreate this beauty after the lovely Connie Babbert who has made one very similar. I took two pictures to show how glittery this paper really is!! I apologize for the bad photos...it's me not the camera (hee hee!).

Brrrrr!!!! Even though it is FREEZING outside...I am so excited for tomorrow!! My Stampin' Up! order with all my goodies is supposd to arrive..that is as long as we don't get too much snow!! I think they are only calling for a few inches..but the kids are praying that there is enough for the schools to close. Insert Heart Treat Cup and fill. Peel off adhesive cover and adhere Heart Treat Cup to a second square of Whisper White card stock to seal the cup. Holiday Stamp-a-Stack

My 1st Holiday Stamp-a-Stack this holiday season, here you can see the cards that we made. Be sure to check my SU! website for future events or contact me today to schedule your own!! I would love to show you how easy it is to make those Christmas cards, or gifts that will make someone's heart melt!! Now...I'm singing- "If I can turn back time and if I could find a way..." I would have posted what we made last week!! Yikes...where does all the time go?? We made a total of 16 cards/envelopes.

We also had an ornament exchange. The catch...it had to be handmade! Here is the one I made..so easy! Click here for the tutorial. I think they turned out great! A great use for all those scrap pieces of DSP!!

Anyway, it was a blast and I am now working on cards that we will make at the next one. Be sure to check my Stampin' Up! website and click on the calendar to see scheduled events. Hope to see you at the next one!! Here are close up pictures of each card and details. Enjoy!!

Here is the ornament card made using the Sizzix large scallop circle die (113468) (Tip: fold standard A2 size card and place on top of the die revealing only 4 scallops, this will create your card and prevent the cut from going through the fold.) I think this one was my favorite, so quick and easy..my kind of card! Especially when you need to make a bunch of them! The circle was made using the clear circle die (114533) and the Merry Moments DSP (115672). Round Tab punch (108340) for the ornament top with some silver and gold cord. Stamped greetings using All Holidays stamp set (114916) Card stock: chocolate chip, real red, whisper white, very vanilla, kraft, garden green, brushed silver, brushed gold. Ink: garden green, real red. The last thing I did to the card was added the punched wholes on the scallops using the paper-piercing tool (116631).

This card is another favorite..just because it's different. I love the flat bow too made using the 5/8" grosgrain real read ribbon (109052). For the card I used a piece of very vanilla that measured 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" for the base. You then attach 2 pieces of Merry Moments DSP (115672) by using the Big Shot and Bigz XL Pennant die (113483) Tip: Cover the smaller pennant two pieces at a time alligning the DSP to the edge of the die and at the same time you will cover a full scallop which you will use as an embellishment. Created a layered piece using very vanilla and old olive CS for the inside. Fold the scallop DSP piece over the top and then I made a snowflake with the Merry Sizzlits die (116823) from the Holiday Mini Catalog and attached with a clear rhinestone brad (113144). The stamp set used was Heard from the Heart (111644) stamped in real red ink. Cute huh?? Clean and simple..yet elegant.

Now this card..is SO pretty in person! Hard to tell from the picture, but the sentiment on the front 'Peace on Earth' is stamped with the Champagne Mist shimmer paint (116806) ...so shimmery~ I just LOVE IT!

Details: very vanilla CS and the Big Shot Movers & Shapers die (114506) with the new Holiday Windows die from the Holiday Mini (116821). Tip: first you make your card and keep the dove in place. Then cut another piece of either acetate or card stock to create a stencil template. Then you can sponge the image (here I used the same shimmer paint) to see through the front of the card. I then added some real red card stock, vellum, gold brads and vanilla taffeta ribbon and done!!

This last card uses the same Champagne Mist Shimmer paint (116806)..have you guessed that I LOVE this stuff?? Here we used the Hostess Level 2 stamp set called Christmas Punch (115366)...this stamp set was also the door prize...hooray to Gloria Runkles who won it, I should have taken a picture of the gift..it was so pretty..I made a snowflake using the Texture Cuts woodsheets (116309) with the Snowflake #2 die (113460) and the real read 1" double stitched grosgrain ribbon...well..you get the picture! It was so pretty and she was very excited she won~ now back to the buckle card. Card stock: real red, whisper white, soft suede, Christmas Cocoa Specialty DSP (116770) and vellum. Punches: wide oval (112082), jumbo snowflake (116628) and word window (105090). Accessories: real red and soft suede markers, gold brad, dimensionals, sponge daubers.

Stamp Camp goodies!

Where do I begin?? I am actually shocked that my Christmas cards are about done, do you know that last year I only sent out a few? Here this is my thing..the whole 'card making thing' and I just wasn't in the spirit! Whole different ball game this year~ I mentioned in a previous post that I am ready to put the tree up and begin decorating? I have promised myself that I will wait until Thanksgiving and probably work on it that weekend. Besides..we have had some crazy weather here lately and when it's about 70 degrees outside...snowmen decor on the front porch just doesn't look right!!

Well... enough of my babbling. Here are items that were made at my last Stamp Camp. All attendees received a cute little flask filled with M&M's. The cute little tag was made using the Tag punch (105934) and Small Tag punch (108264). Stamp set: Eat, Drink & Be Scary (111764). Added some linen thread (104199) and Pumpkin Pie grosgrain (109030) and Voila~

This card was made to honor Breast Cancer Awareness month...even though October has passed...remind the ones you love that awareness is key and early detection is vital. This card is stunning in person, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new shimmer paints (have I mentioned that I LOVE these little babies??) (Featured on pg. 27 in the Holiday Mini Catalog)Here I used Platinum (116807) and a spong dauber (102892) to apply the ink to the back of the background stamp called Tres Chic (109258) (I love this stamp too!!) The focal point is the word 'hope' which was stamped again on a scrap piece of whisper white and layered onto a scalloped oval punch (114889) of Pretty in Pink CS. The DSP is from Night & Day Specialty pack (116768) in the Holiday Mini. I love how simple black & white can be...add some color and hey..this isn't spooky at all!! Very classy and elegant..don't you think?? Dressed it up with some Pretty in Pink taffeta (109067), Whisper White fleurette (115604) and some bling clear rhinetone brad (113144).

Have you seen these pinwheel cards?? I love them because they are a great way to use up small scrap pieces..they can be used for any occasion just change out your color scheme! Click here for a great video tutorial done by BarbMullikin (love her!!) For my card I used Soft Suede for the card base layed with a piece of Sahara Sand. The pinwheel part was done using an Always Artichoke square base and Autumn Traditions DSP (115668) and added an antique brass Build-A-Brad (109108) (the second pinwheel to the left of the card was to show everyone what it looked like if you used the back side of the DSP) I like them both...yup you guessed it...I LOVE this paper too! WOW~ I am my best customer..LOL. Tied some linen thread (104199) in a bow and added stamped sentiment from Holiday Best (115364).

Last but not least a pouch that we made to hold a Cup-a-Soup packet. With flu bugs and H1N1 going around (YUCK!) who wouldn't want this cute little dog to cheer you up? This little guy is from the stamp set called Wellness Wishes (115356). Colored him in using blender pens (102845) with Creamy Caramel, Real Red and Old Olive classic ink. Accessories: silver brads (104336), dimensionals (104430)and Basic Black 5/8" grosgrain (115605).

He didn't have any "body" to go with!! Hee Hee!! I crack myself up sometimes...here is one more~ Whay wasn't there any food left at the monster party? Because everyone was a "goblin" it up! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays...it brings the kid out in everyone! I plan on being Jane Jetson this year for Halloween...for those that know me~it's perfect!! It was that or Miss Piggy...and Jane won the vote! Last Stamp Camp I had to postpone because so many people had sick children..or were not feeling well themselves..I hate this time of year when everyone comes down sick. You will want to put October 30th on your calendar for my regular Stamp Camp, we will be making 2 cards/envelopes and a 3-D item (Cup-a-Soup holder). Great to give to someone who could use a "Get Well Wish". So I hope now all of you are healthy and able to attend some of these events. This Sunday's Holiday Stamp-A-Stack (October 18th) you will be able to make these items: Pat & Patty (she is dressed as Dorothy this year for Halloween!) In between are Peppermint patty treats..aren't they cute?? Plus you will be able to make this Top Note Treat Box that holds a Reese's peanut butter treat (yum-yum)! PLUS these two Halloween cards/envelopes using the Twick or Tweet stamp set (116497).I love this set and the skeleton is so cute when you add googly eyes...just too funny! Wow!! What happened to Fall?? It feels like winter outside~ guess that's why I have been in the mood for Christmas..don't tell anyone but I have been singing Christmas carols to myself while I stamp! Perhaps I have the H1N1...I shouldn't even joke about that!! You know I'll be coming down sick next week because I just jinxed myself. I just wanted to share what we made at my last Stamp Camp. I am actually about to post a video for this too....my second video tutorial~WOW! I hope not to sound so dull and boring!! I love these little Sweet Treat Cups (116802). You can fill them with all sorts of goodies, here I used small confetti leaves for the 'fall' season and to celebrate our local Hot Air Balloon festival. If you live locally, I highly recommend checking it out, just click the link above for more information. The Great Stampin' Up! Pumpkin!!

The other day I went to my friend Anne's house, she recently signed up to be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator (hooray for Anne!!) Here is a link to her SU! website. She was hosting her first Stampin' Up! event and I went to help in anyway I could. She had mentioned to me earlier in the week that as a 'thank-you' to me...she had a gift she was working on. Low and behold as I walked up her sidewalk...this baby was glowing before my eyes!!! Can you believe it?? I love it! (Thanks Anne!!) Her husband is a dentist and used his crafty dentist tools to carve the SU! logo onto one of those craft pumpkins, underneath he carved out a hole and placed a flameless candle. My photos just don't do this little baby justice...it's stunning in real life when the sun goes down. I told her that he needs to make another one and send it to Stampin' Up! Here is a picture in my bathroom..had to try to get a shot of what it looks like in the dark!! Pretty cool huh??

It's here finally!! October 1st!! Be sure to check out Stampin' Up!'s new product My Digital Studio. It is your answer to digital paper crafting..it's not just for scrapbooking. Easy to make create not only scrapbook pages with designer templates (seriously...all you add are your pictures..you can complete a 50+ page album in a matter of minutes!) Make a DVD, calendar or 5 different sizes of cards!! What I have found helpful...is that you can simply design a card 'digitally' and when you have decided on the look that you like... make it!! Or you can create hybrid projects that have been either printed at home or by Stampin' Up! and then add certain embellishments. As I mentioned in a previous post...quite a few days ago! I was going to upload my very first video..well the wait is over. Just don't laugh too hard at me! A special thanks to Katrina Smith (a new dear friend of mine!) I could not have done it without her. So a HUGE hug to you Katrina!! Now that I know what I'm doing, I plan on working on posting some more real soon, so stay tuned.

Happy Sunday! Wow...the weather has cooled, football is on..anybody making chilli yet? Just wanted to share with you a card I made recently and I am actually about to try my very first video tutorial, so after I upload/post it... don't laugh too hard! For those of you who know me, know that I am 'technology challenged' I can turn a computer on, check e-mail, surf the internet and that's about it!! So for me to even go out and purchase a digital camera is HUGE!! Shhh..don't tell anyone but I was still using my video camera from over 14 years ago! Just the other day..I was logged on to Stampin' Up! for a 'webinar' on the new My Digital Studio. I was just amazed that I was listening and watching a tutorial like they were in the same room as I was and teaching me on my own computer!! Speaking of 'My Digital Studio' it is just the coolest thing on the planet..besides the Sizzix Big Shot of course!! I have played quite a bit and can't wait for the print service to be up and running (soon soon soon!!) This product will be available to customers beginning October 1st. Let me know if you have any questions about it. Now back to my card. The apple that you see is actually a magnet that can be removed. I plan on packaging some of these together for teacher gifts.

Pink Flamingo Creations!!

This past Saturday I had a workshop , here were some party favors I made. I love this paper and am not ready to say 'farewell' to summer. The colors in are just so bright and cheerful!~enjoy!

Here are some easy party favors made using the Pink Flamingo DSP (113976) and the Big Shot's Scallop Circle Die (113468). You could use a variety of treats inside and here I used Snickers candy bars. This would be quick and easy as a Halloween Treat using the Cast-a-Spell DSP (115677). Wrap around treat and secure with ribbon. Yummy!!

Here's an oldie but a goodie..Post-It-Note holder: I love using coasters for so many projects. Here I covered the coaster with the same DSP and slipped some matching paper inside the barrel of the RSVP pen which was covered with clear micro-beads, added a binder clip and ribbon~ (this became the door prize). Very easy!

To the left is the hostess gift made using a class that I purchased from Andrea Walford's Demo to Demo class planning service(this was back in April 2009) called Fifth Avenue Floral. I recommend her sight/classes. Very easy to follow directions and illustrations.

These two pictures give you an idea on how the card holder opened. Isn't it cute?? I can see doing more of these over the holidays for gifts. They are so stinkin' cute!! Lastly..these were the cards that went inside. Hope you all have a great day!! ~Erin

A tisket, a tasket...a Wood Sheet Basket!!

As soon as I saw the birch Wood Sheets (116309) on pg 158 in the Idea Book & Catalog..I knew I had to have them!! Since I have now had them in my stash of un-opened goodies (shhh!!) I figured it was time to put them to use. I watched a tutorial at www.stampingschool.com where they were used to create a cute little square basket. I altered mine a bit into a rectangular shape, then to cover the inside I used some of the Bella Blue DSP (113974) and now it looks like a fabric lined basket!! The handles were made by taking a strip of 1/2" x 6" Close to Cocoa CS use either a bone folder (or scissors) and press your thumb over the CS against the bone folder and slide in an upward motion (as if you were curling ribbon). Do that to both sides and it will be break the fibers in the card stock. You then can pull it apart and ta-da...it's soft and fuzzy like suede. This techniques is also great for making projects look like flock..you can do this with any of our colors to match your project. Another tip: I colored (stained) the top wooden strip by using an Aqua Painter (103954) and here I used Soft Suede refill (115663) (but you can use any color). Squirt just a few drops into the lid and dip with the aqua pen. Hope that makes sense...be sure to check out the video and let me know if you have any questions!! Have a great day! ~Erin
