Valentine's Burlap banner

Hello....the kiddos are home from school today due to a dusting of snow~

Pretty isn't it?

I am from Rhode Island...where we had a good bit of snow throughout the winter season...don't ever remember missing school for it. Lucky kids!!
So...later today I will fill the bird feeders and put out the corn for squirrels. I think I could sit here all day long and watch the squirrels. Why I wonder.... do their tails twitch??
If you look at the picture, my house is on the left but on the far right of the picture you will see a tree with one of those stands for the squirrels? I had my husband make me one and we put it on my neighbors tree...LOL. They didn't mind..honestly I am not sure if they have ever even noticed it!

Anyway, over the weekend I was excited to decorate for Christmas...Valentine's (might need another cup of coffee!) I don't have a bunch of goodies, but a few here and there. What got me inspired was a new lantern I found:

I filled it with some country goodies...I found this glass cylinder that could slide easily over a candle, or flameless candle..but what I did was taped a strand of these led lights that are even made to go under water to the inside of the glass...have you seen these?? SO stinkin' cute!!
Here is a close-up of the lights:

What I loved about it was the burlap...remember my burlap banners shown here??
On that post I also have a quick video tutorial.
I made ANOTHER ONE!!
Ta-da~

Here is a quick card I made yesterday. This is also the very first time I used the Petite Pennants Builder punch...why is that?? I LOVE it, makes for a quick and easy project...and as you know I am obsessed with banners...so how is it that I have never made a banner type card?? Things that make you go hmmmm.

Here is the back:

Tomorrow I can't wait until my new goodies arrive...I have not ordered anything in over two months!!! So not only did I replenish card stock, buttons, brads and snail adhesive. But after hours of looking through the new Spring Catalog...I decided what I wanted needed. Lucky me...I was able to choose 10 FREE Sale-a-Bration goodies too!!!

First post of 2013!!!

First and foremost Happy New Year!!

I am honestly relieved that the holidays are over and before you know it, SPRING will be here!!
Of course... I am saying that while the temperatures here in Virginia are the coldest that they have been in YEARS!! It's FREEZING!!

One thing I love about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is that even though it seems it was ages ago since my last post...I have been active (as a demonstrator) and stamping here and there. I just decided to take some time off...to just relax. There is no pressure in sales....or having to hold workshops. I have enjoyed it as my creative outlet, hobby and always will.

I want to share with you a few projects I made for the holidays and gift giving.

Here are some adorable ice skates that can be hung as ornaments on the tree, hung around a bottle of wine or as gift tags. I used them as gift card holders. Click here for a video tutorial.

Note: After watching the video...and using crystal effects as mentioned, I decided it would be WAY easier to attach the fabric first to the card stock using a glue stick and then cut using the Big Shot. You're welcome!! (wink)

Here is another really cute project using wine bottle corks:

Can't remember where I saw this idea originally...probably somewhere on Pinterest. It really isn't that hard...hardest part is having enough corks... (lucky for me I LOVE wine and had plenty!!) I wrapped some silver tinsel ribbon (retired) and added a tag.

Another gift I made was CASED from Elizabeth Price's adorable creation shown here. I ran out to the store immediately to gather supplies as soon as I saw it on her blog....and here is what it started to look like within just minutes:
I was getting SO excited..I ended up making a dozen each in two different sized mason jars. Hardest part was cleaning up the tinsel on the counter from snipping the pipe cleaners...making some more of these cuties for Chistmas 2013!!!

HUGE Stampin' hugs~
I will now be back to posting regularly and sharing my passion of paper crafting. Until then, take care and please feel free to leave a comment or contact me if you have any questions!!
